I used to hate mopping the floor so it used to get done only when our kitchen and dining area were starting to look really quite digusting! The idea of getting on my hands and knees, dunking a cloth in and out of quickly filthy water and scrubbing hard at stains just isn't something which would shine a light on my day.

Traditional  mops never really did it for me either, just too much water and you can never wring them out properly to avoid it, then the floor takes ages to dry by which time the kids/dog/husband/cats have walked all over it (despite your best efforts to keep them off!) and some of the mess is back.

At least, that's how mopping used to be until I found the joys of owning a steam mop. Now I can almost say I LOVE mopping!

I opted for the Bissell after reading various online reviews which compared it favorably to the Shark steam mop which seems to be much more easily attainable at least in my local stores. Ended up buying it from Walmart online for a great price and having it delivered because it wasn't available locally and since then I have become a born again housewife...at least when it comes to mopping anyway!

The Bissell is great. It doesn't use any chemical cleaners so you can probably even save money in the long run on floor and tile cleaner, plus its a great benefit to your family and the environment to keep those chemicals out of your home. The cleaner uses hot steam to lift the dirt from your floors and a far as I can tell it works great. Oh sure, it's not going to get it as clean as hands and knees scrubbing and polishing but its not far away.

It is also lightweight and therefore not a pain to move around. It does require some 'oomph' to push it around the floors (frictionand all that jazz) but not more than using a normal mop.

I do find I go through cleaning pads pretty fast however, so you will probably want to pick up some back-ups which are readily available. These are basically cloth pads which attach to the end of the mop which get dirty fast as you clean the floors. They are washable, so you will not need to keep buying replacements, but its nice to have some extra so you know you have them available especially if you have a lot of hard flooring like I do otherwise you are steam cleaning with a dirty cloth...

The only cons I can see with this cleaner so far is the length of the cord. It is pretty short which can be a little annoying but nothing an extension cord can't fix.

I've had mine around 4 months at the time of writing this review and have not had any issues at all with it. Like I said, it has changed the way I look at mopping from hate it to love it...almost.
