I was pleasantly surprised with this carpet steamer. I had owned a different more expensive steamer that could not handle the pet hair and did not last long. I bought this steamer because it said it could handle pet hair and it was cheaper than others. I have a long haired cat and she sheds a lot so i did not think the steamer would last long. I had spilled a cup if coffee on the carpet and could not get the stain out. This steamer got the 2 year old stain out. Maneuverability It is very easy to maneuver in large open areas, not so easy in smaller spaces or on stairs. Ease of Maintenance This steamer is easy to use and easy to clean Suction Performance I was amazed at the fact that the carpet was almost dry after the first use. Over time the suction is not quite as good. Versatility Will also work on other surfaces but I choose to only use this steamer on carpet. I can clean the kitchen and bathroom floors easier with a different appliance. Design Not as bulky as most steamers but also not as modern looking. Durability Exceeded my expectations.

There is nothing that makes a house feel dirty to me more than dirty carpets or floors. As a result I tend to buy a lot of floor cleaners and vacuums. The Bissell Quicksteamer is one of my favorites. I have carpet on four floors in my house so lugging my full size machine up and down the stairs is a pain, and as a result I tend to leave it on the floor where most of the bedrooms on and use my Quicksteamer everyplace else. Even with the solution tank full it is lightweight and easy to bring with me to wherever I need it. It is super easy to use. Just add a little solution to the tank and then fill it up with hot tap water. It does a good job of freshening the smell ( and look) of high traffic areas and it is awesome for spills...like the other day when my potty training toddler peed on the carpet in her playroom! My only complaint is that I feel like the collection tank (where the dirty water ends up) is hard to get really clean. Considering that it is just the place that holds dirty water I guess that it isn't the biggest deal but it does kind of bug me. The only other issue I can think of is that the Quicksteamer is so great that my friends and family are constantly asking to borrow it!

I love this machine. It is so easy to use. It is lightweight so easy to maneuver. Easiest to fill for cleaning. Easiest to clean after using. My carpets look so clean and smell so fresh when I get done using the Bissell Quick Steamer Maneuverability So, so easy to maneuver. Can get into a lot more places than the big machines. Lightweight, so it is easy to carry. I have more control with this machine than the other bigger ones. Ease of Maintenance Awfully easy to clean. Empty out water, rinse container. How much easier can it get. Suction Performance Perfect suction performance, floor is dry in no time. Versatility Most versatile cleaning machine I have ever used. Easy, easy, easy. Design Great design. Lightweight, easy to fill, easy to clean. A nice long cord, so no extension cord needed. Small and compact, just the right size. Durability Mine has gone through myself, my two daughters and my daughter in-law. Still looks as good as new and works great. Have had no problems.

I've had this for a few years now. At first it was great for the price. I'm a huge fan of bissell products so I had very high hopes for this machine. Now let me begin to say I have 3 dogs and a toddler so I had to use my bissell very often. At the time of purchase we were in mid potty training both our dog and toddler so I was using it everyday if not several times a day. It's lightweight so easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to put away. However after about a year of constant use it started to leak. I however continued to use it and would just clean up the mess afterwards. Almost a year later the suction gave however I still used it. I would just pushed down on it more in order to suck up the water which worked at the time. Now here we are a little over 2 1/2 years after purchase and the seal completely broke and it leaks horribly. I'm sure you could buy a replacement seal but I ended up just throwing it. This doesn't by any means make me steer away from bissell products. I'm still very much a fan, I just think I need something with more power and durability. I would recommend this product unless your going to be using it often.

I had reviewed this product previously, I felt that a revision was necessary. This machine has decent suction, but the two serious flaws knock-out the positives for this product. The vacuum needs to have a spinning brush, not a static one, this simply makes zero sense. The second major flaw is the design of the collection tank for the dirty water, the way it is now is ridiculous. They need to redesign the collection tank, to ensure that it does not "spit out" suds all over the place. This is the sole reason why I threw my machine out and purchased a better designed unit.

Ok, I received the Bissell Quick Steamer Carpet Cleaner from my brother. He used it once for a job and no longer needed it so yipee for me! I do love that it cleans my carpets and when used immediatly will get up most spills and stains. The brushes only move when you push or pull the steamer they do not rotate on their own like some steamers do. This is an ok thing since you generally are moving the steamer anyway. I do like that you can see the dirt in the dirty water so you feel you are getting your carpet clean. It is somewhat easy to take apart to clean that being said I also do feel it could come apart in other areas to make it really clean after each use. The Bissell Quick Steamer Carpet Cleaner is lightweight as far as steamer go. It is not a big chore to get it out to use. I tried using it on my kitchen floor (read my other posts for my poor kitchen floor!) but it does not work well on hardwood or linoleum because the brushes to not reach down far enought to scrub. If you have excess water on your kitchen or bathroom floor it will suck it up!

The Bissell 1770 Quicksteamer is so easy to use. I bought mine back in June and absolutely love it. Previously, I had a different brand that was a lot older and it was absolutely a nightmare to use! I used to dread having to pull it out and assemble it. The Bissell Quicksteamer is nothing like that. You simply take off the little compartment off the back add some carpet cleaner, fill the rest with warm water and re-attach it to the back of the cleaner. Next you plug it up and clean your carpet! In my opinion, it cleans well and gives your house that fresh, clean scent. I recommend this cleaner to anyone who is in the market for a general use carpet cleaner. I have no regrets for buying it. If mine broke for some reason, I would definitely purchase another one. My mother - in- law got one for Mother's Day last year and she feels the same way about hers. You can't go wrong purchasing the Bissell Quicksteamer!

As a new pet owner and college student renting an apartment, I was concerned when my dog had accidents.  The walkway in front of the door looked awful, as friends walked in and our new nervous dog did her business on the carpet.  I headed to the store looking for a cheap, but good working carpet cleaner.  I could not believe the deal we got for such a great steam cleaner.  After cleaning just the spot in front of the door, I was appalled at the difference in the rest of the carpet and excited to clean the rest of the house.  Not only is the Quicksteamer lightweight and easy to carry, but the water tank is easy to empty.  The only downside is the tank is smaller than I would have hoped, so it has to be emptied it often, but that is made up for in the size of the cleaner.  It's easy to store and easy to clean.  I would reccommend the Quicksteamer to anyone with messy pets or children, or just needs to clean the carpets every once in a while.  I am very satisfied with this product.

Being the first steam cleaner vacuum I purchased, I don't have a lot to compare it to. However, it did wonders on my carpet. I did have to go over certain areas a lot but it eventually got all the dirt. I also found it works best when you use the bissel pre-treatment cleaner and let it sit on the dirty carpets for a little bit.

This is the best small size carpet cleaner I have found. I love this one so much that when the one I had last year broke I immediately ran out and got this model. I also bought a hoover to see how they compared. This one was the best by far and I will tell you why. This machine is incredibly light. If you have a lot of stairs in your house this is the carpet cleaner you want. It has a grip handle on the back and moves easily up and down the stairs. It was very easy to put together when we brought it home from the store. You did not even need the directions it was so obvious how it works. You add the water into a container attached onto the back of this machine. The container comes off the machine very easily. Being that it is such a small machine I was concerned about how much water it would actually hold. But I was pleasantly surprised to find what looked like a small container was actually enough to clean half of a room. You only put a small amount of carpet cleaner into this container then fill the rest with warm water. I have found using warm or hot water actually helps to remove the stains from my carpet easier. The handle on this machine is very comfortable. It moves easily back and forth across the floor. It is at the optimal height for this type of machine and allows you to move it around without bending or hunching over the cleaner. The plug has a very long cord that is great when you need to go across a large room. However when cleaning a smaller room it is a pain to keep holding on to or pulling up all of the excess cord hanging from the machine. This machine has an absolutely unbelievable amount of suction. After wetting the area down throughly you can run the machine over it about 4 times and have all of the water removed from the carpet. I frequently start on one side of the room and move to the other. With this machine before I get a quarter of the way across the room the place where I started is completely dry! This is so amazing. I dread thinking of water stuck in my carpet turning moldy or holding dirt. Now I know with this machine the carpet is only wet for a few minutes and is fully dry in a remarkable amount of time. The brushes on the front of the cleaner do an exceptional job. They move and stir up stains or dirt in the carpet to be sucked up into the machine. I get such a sense of satisfaction watching the dirt water flow up from the carpet through the machine and into the well. It sounds silly but actually seeing the dirt being taken out makes me feel good that the carpet is getting cleaned well. The part of the machine that holds the dirty water the well does fill up pretty quickly. This is actually a good thing because it seems as the well fills up the suction in the cleaner decreases. So by having to change out the well as much as you to do it really ensures that the cleaner stays at maximum suction. Many people burn out the motors on these cleaners because they keep sucking up water when the well is full. This machine will start to blow bubbles out of the side of the well very clearly letting you know it needs to be emptied. I have beaten my head against the wall for years with hoover cleaners. They have a pad that moves up and blocks the suction when your well is full. This burns out the cleaner and is very aggravating becuase sometimes the well is not full but the pump that is supposed to float gets jammed in there. This is a big feature of the bissell. I love that there is no floaty thingy to fight with. When it comes time to empty the well it is very simple. You simply drain the dirty water out of a medium size hole on the back. What is nice about this is many times you have clumps of carpet fibers inside the well. You dont want to have these fibers in wherever you are going to put this dirty water. So you can drain the water into something dispobale. Then the well has a bigger pocket that opens you can reach into and remove the carpet fibers and place them in the trash. When you remove the well from the machine it very easily lifts up off of the base. After emptying it is very simple to just snap the levers back down and you are ready to go. The brushes can also be cleaned easily by removing a piece of plastic and using that to clean build up carpet fibers. This is such a lightweight cleaner it takes no time to move across the room. A bigger cleaner may cover more area but I believe this smaller one provides a much better cleaner effect. By focusing on a small area at a time that area gets much cleaner and gets more suction. The bigger machines have a wider head and the suction is unevenly distributed over the area. I would recommend this to everyone I know. I will definetly buy another of these models if the one I have breaks.
