Don't know what I would do without it!

Cost conscious, a homeowner, a dog owner, picking up after pets, Practical
Pros

    Do it yourself and save lots of money., Wide path, Cleans vinyl floors also, Easy to use, Cleans great, Easy to fill and refill water, Cleans EVERYTHING!, Grooms carpet, Great at actually cleaning the carpet

Cons
    Somewhat difficult to clean the unit, uses a lot of cleaning solution

This is a terrific machine!  It not only shampoos the carpet - it pulls stuff out that the vacuum missed!

Lightweight - no, but it is maneuverable.  And the hand tools that come with it are really great on the furniture.

The one - and only - downside is that the "dirty water" tank is hard to clean out completely.  The last time I used the machine, my husband and I just about took it totally apart to get the sand and grit out of the *catch* tank.
