Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum Review Summary

If you have pets in your home our reviewers think that you should have the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum to help you clean up pet hair, dirt and dander. This vacuum is very effective against dog, cat and other pet hair as well as the dirt and dust that animals bring in with them. It is easy to assemble, easy to empty, lightweight and easy to use. Jasyjen points out that families with allergies will appreciate, “It comes with a HEPA Filter that captures 99.9% of pet dander, dust mites, pollens and ragweeds.” Mortimoss and other reviewers say, “The amount of pet hair and dirt it picked up the first time I used it was SHOCKING.” Catherine510 says, “I love the attachments that get the pet hair that seems to defy gravity and the pet hair that attaches to the crease on the stairs.” Overall, some may find this vacuum slightly more expensive but even the “unhandy” can put it together and use it. Keep your attachments nearby as they make your cleaning job much easier and there are a lot of them. Keep reading more home appliance reviews to find those that you should or shouldn’t use to keep your home clean.

We have two dogs, a cat, and a bird.  Thus, I have a tough job trying to keep my home free of pet hair & dander.  Do NOT buy this vacuum unless you really want to see what's hiding out in your carpet fibers.  I was AMAZED when I saw how much was collected in the compartment you dump out.  I did a...

Have owned the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum for 7 months...problems began in month 3 (brush did not turn consistently). Now the brush only turns on highest setting and suction is diminished. Spoke with Bissell customer "service" rep, who said he doubted what I told him about my never having to replace... review »

We love this vacuum! We have a 2 year old black lab mix and tan carpets. So, his hair is very obvious, and even after vacuuming (with our upright), it usually looks like we didn't in some places in the house. There is usually still hair all over the stairs, the tools on the vacuum don't work so well for hair, and it's terrible for our furniture. We got tired of dragging the upright up and down the stairs and using the ineffective tools, so the hair kind of collected. The tools that came with the upright did not seem to be designed for stair use. It came with a "power attachment" that did close...

There are a lot of mixed reviews on this vaccum, and after owning it for a couple of years, I can see both sides.  Let me start with the positives:

1) It really works.  If you own cats or dogs, you know what a pain it can be to get rid of all of the fur they leave behind.  This vaccum is very adept at picking up all of the fur that my previous vaccum left behind.  It actually worked so well that my brother and sister-in-law bought one as well!

2) The included tools help you get the job finished!  I have a friend who is allergic to cats, and after using this vaccum, he came over while they...

The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum is awesome! The amount of pet hair and dirt it picked up the first time I used it was SHOCKING. That means my old vacuum wasn't doing anything!

It has great attachments for upholstery and around the baseboards, as well as stairs (this is a huge plus if you live in a 2-story home). Changing the filter is super, super easy. Emptying the bucket is a snap too.

The only downsides are that the hose is a bit too short, which makes it harder to use. And the exhaust blows quite hot. Other than that, this is an awesome vacuum that I would recommend to anyone. I couldn't...

I have struggled with pet hair for about 2 years.  I have 2 longhair cats at home and needed a reliable vacuum that WORKS.

After purchasing another brand, and returning it, I opted for this one and it was the best purchase.  I've had it a little over a year and have not experienced a single problem with it.

The hair eraser on the front of the vacuum is the best.  It easily lifts up and down depending on your use.  I usually leave it down since there's always a bit of kitty hair on the carpet.

I just love it.  Wonderful vacuum.

We purchased the Bissell Pet Hair Vacuum Eraser after wearing out three other vacuum cleaners due to heavy use.  We have one long-haired golden retriever and a long-haired cat who leave clumps of hair on the carpet when they are shedding their winter coats.  The Bissell picks up hair very thoroughly, but the dirt cup is not very big and it makes a mess when it's time to empty it.  The hair wraps around the filter and when you pull the cup down, the dirt falls all around and I have to reach up around the filter and pull the hair out (which causes more dirt to fall out).  I have vacuum back over...

We bought our Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum about 1 1/2 ago and it is the best vacuum I've ever owned.  We had a tough time getting the small hairs from our boxer out of the carpeting and furniture fabrics so I figured this would be a great vacuum to try.  I am so happy I did.  The suction force of this vacuum is tremendous.  It has many attachments to use for any spot that you need to vacuum.

The best part is it "lifts off" of the vacuum base, so you can vacuum high places and stairs at ease.  Very easy to lift off and put back on the base.

Other features I love are the pet hair eraser tool...

"Let me start by saying I have bought 2 Kenmore cannisters in the last 25 years and thought they were the best until now. I didn't want to invest 300$ at this time and I wanted something to handle the mass hair from my dog. The reviews I read raved about this unit. They did not come close to how great this unit is. Not only did it pick up dog hair I had no idea was in the carpet, it picked up dirt, borax powder, that carpet powder that has been sprinkled over the years. I vacummed a spot for five minutes, emptied the cannister, and went over the same spot again and it still sucked things out of...

Love this Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum.  It is easy to clean, although the hose needs to be easier to clean.  Filters and canisters remove easily.  I could not believe how much pet hair and dirt it picked up even after I had run my regular vacuum cleaner.  I got this last year for Christmas.  We have two dogs and 1 cat in the house and I could not wait to try this vacuum out.  First we took our vacuum with the bag in it and swept the carpeting.  Then we tried the Bissell and I could not believe the amount of hair that was in the canister.  I was truly shocked.  My mother visited and...

I absolutely LOVE my Bissel Pet Hair Eraser vacuum.  I have two dogs, one being a golden retriever who sheds like theres no tomorrow, and it is amazing how good my house looks after using this vacuum. Its like I sold my two dogs because you would never know they were there. (Then they start playing and I have to Vacuum again.) Its so easy to Empty and clean all the filters. I Love the attatchment that helps me vacuum my bed and furniture, it doesnt matter how much hair is there to begin with because it all gets sucked up no problem as long as you keep your filters clean thats the key.  I would...

Best vacuum I have ever owned. I have had many different brands of vacuum and this one is hands down by far the best. Easy to empty, picks up pet hair like a magnet. I will never own another vacuum again

We bought the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vaccuum because we have a dog and we wanted something that would vaccuum well and help get rid of the hair.  Well, it worked okay at first, but after a few months it started picking up less and less from the carpet.  It eventually began looking like we hadn't vaccuumed at all!  Then, one day (after owning it for about a year and a half) while in the middle of vaccuuming it started sputtering and making strange sounds.  Then it began smoking and I quickly turned it off and unplugged the cord.  But it was too late - the damage was done and the vaccuum cleaner...
