Reviewers sum up the Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum best by saying it's a "great vacuum with great features for a great price!" It's also a good thing for them to tell you that "it sucks." Many people have come to their decision to purchase this Bissell vacuum after much research, finding it had the features and results they wanted. It looks very much like a Dyson vacuum "with the turbines leading into the dust container, the long extension hose for reaching up stairs," yet it's it's a few hundred dollars less. For your healthy home, this Bissell also comes with a HEPA filter to purify the air as you vacuum and a bagless canister "that is very easy to empty. Those with pets find they have no pet hair problem when they use this vacuum. Not everyone was tickled with this Health Home Vacuum, though, as a few reviewers complained of a hot exhaust and that the unit broke down too often, but overall they are saying this Bissell is the "best vacuum I've ever owned!"

Most HelpfulA few weeks ago our vacuum broke. We bought a really fuzzy rug for our living room several months ago and I guess it wore out the motor. How do I know this? Because the thing was smoking and stinky and just not really happy. It also was not sucking anything up anymore.
So I went to Costco thinking...

Most HelpfulI really truly loved this product at first. Then I noticed it heated up when I used it and released a lot of very warm air while vacuuming. Vacuuming itself is hard enough already, who needs hot air blowing on them while they're doing it?! We clean it often and find that it's a real pain to dump the...
read full review »About 2 months ago, I was in desperate need of a new vacuum. My old one had bit the dust. Although I needed one badly, I didn't want to make a hasty decision, so I researched vacuums for a couple of weeks. I had finally made a decision and went to Costco to go and pick up the $549.00 Dyson. I thought the Dyson was a little pricey but it had the features and suction that I wanted. When I got there, I needed to walk past the Bissell Healthy Home vacuum to get my Dyson off the shelf. It stopped me in my tracks. Except for the color it looked very much like the Dyson with the turbines...
read full review »The Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum will give you a deep clean with very little effort. It comes with a HEPA filter that purifies the air as you vacuum, so the dusty exhaust air you get with other vacuums is eliminated. It also has an upholstery attachment that is great for cleaning pet hair off of furniture and rugs. You can vacuum bare floors and carpeting, and with the included attachments you can even vacuum rugs, furniture, stairs, walls, and ceilings.
It is a bagless canister vacuum that is very easy to empty. The canister is clear with a full line to let you know when it is time to...

It does a great job picking up. The suction is fabulous. We have 2 dogs & 2 cats and a couple kids running through here all the time and I vacuum a lot with this. I don't have a pet hair problem at all. The vacuum doesn't have a problem with what it is releasing back through the filter into the air either. There is nothing that I can see or smell coming back through the HEPA filter. The cord is super long and it has great attachments including a revolving brush to clean stairs/furniture.
The only drawbacks that I can see are: that it is very heavy and the...
read full review »it is truly the definition of IRONIC that Bissell chose to name this elephant of a filth producing vaccum "Healthy Home". My utter disappointment and disgust for this subpar product is so great that I personally spoke with Mr. Bissell's secretary in an attempt (in vein) to get on his calendar in order to personally deliver this horrific product back to him.
Pros: Ummmm, let's see . . . I can honestly say it does suck stuff up into it quite well.
Cons:
1) It's unbelievably FILTHY! Yes, it may indeed suck things up into quite well, and even boasts a hepa filtration system . . . .but what...
read full review »i vacuum a lot. you name a vacuum and i have probably had it, from Dyson to Hoover. the Dyson works great on carpet. the Bissell healthy home worked great on the hardwoods for a couple of months but after that i had many problems with it. the canister broke, the hose broke, the power button is stuck on but that is much better than when it won't turn on at all and the only way to use it is to hold the button down the whole time. finally, the handle screws into the main unit. the vacuum is heavy and with all the push/pull motion the screw loosens often. there are only so many times you can...
read full review »I own this vacuum and though it picks up everything OK, it smells. I have a dog and pick up a lot of dog hair and the next time I use the vacuum, all I smell is dirty dog hair. I've changed the filter but those darn things are very expensive.
It's also quite heavy. Which that doesn't bother me. It give me a good work out but it might bother some.
It's also a little top heavy. Always tipping over.
It also releases warm air and here in CA, I don't need anymore of that.
This is the worst vacuum as far as stairs and getting on your hands and knees to get under furniture. It falls on me constantly because I use the hose attachements often. As long as you just use it as an uprite, you might be okay. When I'm cleaning, I have to be aware of my placement to the vacuum and I have to always check to make sure that the hose hasn't fallen from the clip or else it will fall on me, my furniture or pets. It's the worst. I contacted Bissell and they basically told me it was my problem not the design.
