About 2 months ago, I was in desperate need of a new vacuum. My old one had bit the dust. Although I needed one badly, I didn't want to make a hasty decision, so I researched vacuums for a couple of weeks. I had finally made a decision and went to Costco to go and pick up the $549.00 Dyson. I thought the Dyson was a little pricey but it had the features and suction that I wanted. When I got there, I needed to walk past the Bissell Healthy Home vacuum to get my Dyson off the shelf. It stopped me in my tracks. Except for the color it looked very much like the Dyson with the turbines leading into the dust container, the long extension hose for reaching up stairs and a few other features that I knew I wanted. I looked at the $300.00 price difference and decided to take the Bissell home and give it a try. I knew that Costco has an excellent return policy so I really had nothing to lose, but $300.00 to gain if it worked out. Guess what? It sucked so awesomely, that my 10 year old daughter and I were fighting over who got to vacuum. My living room carpet, which is about 14' X 18' needed 3 go overs with the vaccuum and you should've seen the dust cup fill up. I was almost sick to see what my last vaccuum had left behind. The air controlled stair tool works excellent. I am extremely happy with my Bissell. It works very well on the hardwood floors. The only thing I don't like about it is the weight of the unit (we have a two story house) and the fact that you need two hands to empty the dust cup and a bit of dust gets left behind (which can be sucked up after). Excellent value, quiet, strong!!!
