It sucks. Yeah, that's a good thing.

Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum —

A few weeks ago our vacuum broke.  We bought a really fuzzy rug for our living room several months ago and I guess it wore out the motor.  How do I know this? Because the thing was smoking and stinky and just not really happy.  It also was not sucking anything up anymore.

So I went to Costco thinking I was going to get a Dyson (even though my husband swore he didn't want a yellow vacuum).  There was only one puny looking Dyson there for $400 so I got the Bissell Healthy Home vacuum which was right next to it and looked more substantial.  This turned out to be a really good buy.

The Bissell works really well and we are very happy with almost every aspect of it.

What we like:

Good suction

It's bagless.

The brush can be turned off so it just sucks.  This makes it possible for me to vacuum that fuzzy rug without the brush sucking up the long fibers and burning up.

It came with an extra hepa filter and some anti dust mite things to sprinkle on the carpet.

Price was not too bad.  It was $229 at Costco and came with attachments.

Easy to assemble.  Only needed to screw the handle on and insert the hose.

Dirt tank is large and fairly easy to empty.  Just remove the tank with one button, then push another button which causes the bottom to flip open and the dirt to fall out.  We have pets so I still have to reach up inside to get the cat hair glob out but it does not clog up.

This bagless vacuum is the cleanest and least messy of the 4 bagless vacuums we've owned thus far.

Surprisingly quiet.  When the vacuum is not moving the brush stops spinning but when it is moved forward it spins.

What we don't like:

It's really heavy

The brush tool which is stored on the front keeps flying off when the vacuum is in use.

4 stars - we are really happy with this vacuum and hope that it holds up and I don't break it.

:( I want a vacuume that works. Boy do I know about smokey, smelly vacuumes. I am ready to just rip out my rugs and shave the cat. Thanks for the review!
