Bissell 1715-G Spotlifter Bagless Handheld Vacuum Review

I have a light colored carpet and with four of us in the house and multiple pets, stains appear often on the rug.  I used to pull out the big rug cleaner but it was such a hassle for one spot that I would end up trying to clean it up on my hands and knees.  I finally got sick of it and purchased the Bissell 1715-G Spot lifter Bagless Handheld Vacuum for $39.99.  It is not the the greatest product out there but is effective for the occasional spot here and there.

My Experience

This spot lifter is very easy to use comes with a starter bottle of formula.  There is a standard brush attached that helps loosen the stain.  For the first few minutes, it does a decent job of cleaning up a fresh small stain.  Bissell doesn't try to claim that it is for more than just that.  They state that the Spot Lifter was designed to pick up spots and spills as they occur.  They tell you upfront that when it is fully charged your Spot Lifter will operate for up to 5-7 minutes.  Unfortunately, I have had to recharge and go back to some stains a while later in order to fully get the stain up.  I do like though that it can be used on hard floors to suck up spills.  I have used it many times for that in my kitchen.  There have been a few times that the tank has leaked solution but that usually happens only when I overfill the tank.  There is a formula line and a water line to help reduce this from happening. 32 oz. refills of Bissell Little Green formula can be purchased for around $8.99.

My Final Viewpoint    

The Bissell 1715-G Spot lifter Bagless Handheld Vacuum is an average spot lifter that I would recommend for the occasional use of cleaning fresh small stains.  In my household where there are small children and animals, I believe I need something a little stronger.  I give this product a 3 star rating.
