I had been hearing raves about Bird Paradise Ultimate Blend Parrot Food for a couple of years before I finally decided to see what everyone was talking about.  A good friend of mine was visiting their bird superstore in Burlington, NJ so I asked her to pick up a couple of pounds of this dry mix for me.  After using it with my three parrots for a couple of weeks, I have to say that it is probably the best parrot food that I've ever seen.

According to the Bird Paradise web site, Ultimate Blend is a nutritionally-balanced blend of non-colored pellets, human-grade nuts, dried fruits, vegetables, and herbs.  They state that this parrot food is made fresh daily at the store and that the recipe is a secret.  A quick look at the bag reveals that Ultimate Blend contains things like shelled almonds, banana chips, freeze-dried green beans, dried corn, shelled walnuts, peas, pellets, raisins, raw shelled pumpkin seeds, pineapple, coconut flakes, dried chili peppers, unshelled pistachios, shelled peanuts, unshelled pumpkin seeds, and something that looks like dried papaya.  Obviously there are more ingredients in the mixture than just what I can list after glancing at it for a few seconds.

All three of my parrots really enjoy eating Bird Paradise Ultimate Blend.  The macaw says "wow" when I fill up his bowl while the african grey beeps with pleasure when she sees her refill coming.  They seem to eat just about everything in this mix which is something new for them.  Usually when I feed them other products they pick out the seeds, nuts, and whatever else happens to strike their fancy that day.  Now that they are on Ultimate Blend, they eat pretty much all of it except the pellets.  They even eat the dried fruit chunks! That's a breakthrough for them as they used to just toss them out of their bowls and cages.

At $4.49 per pound, Bird Paradise's Ultimate Blend Parrot Food isn't cheap, but I am happy to pay that price because it is such a high-quality product.  I try to feed my Blue & Gold Macaw, Eclectus, and Timneh African Grey the very best diet that I possibly can and this dry mix supports that goal.  The only downside to feeding this stuff to your birds is that it is available only in the Burlington, NJ store or online through the store's web site.  I live close enough that I can drive out to the shop to stock up, but most people will have to order it through the web site and pay the associated shipping fees.

I'm really happy that I finally started using Bird Paradise Ultimate Blend Parrot Food with my crew.  My birds love it and it is an extremely-high quality mix that I feel good about feeding them.  Highly recommended!

Sorry you are so angry about this food. My parrots have been eating it for almost a year now and have done very well on it.
