Biotene Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel Review

I have an autoimmune disease called Sjogren's Syndrome. This is not the only condition that causes dry mouth. There are many reasons that you could have dry mouth. If it is chronic I suggest you see a doctor. I like Biotene products. In my arsenal is a gel called Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel. 

A Closer View

This 1.5 ounce tube runs about $7.00 which is a lot of money for a small tube; however, a little really does go a long, long way so I am not counting this as a negative. It has bio-active enzymes that are said to stop odor-causing bacteria and help provide protection against dry mouth. 

Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel is sweetened with Xylitol. If you have dry mouth make sure that when you buy gum (If you do.) that it contains Xylitol as the primary ingredient. That ingredient alone will help with your dry mouth. Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel helps with swallowing. Many of us have problems swallowing and coughing becomes a way of life.

Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel is a clear colored slightly thick gel that doesn't have much of a taste. If anything it tastes alright rather than bad.

My experience

Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel can be used under dentures and gets applied right on my tongue or an affected area. I had never used it for an "affected area" until recently. My son (step) got married last weekend and a few days before the wedding I developed a canker sore (Common for dry mouth patients and Sjogren's patients) on the corner of my mouth. I have had them before and never thought to use Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel. The sores hurt and don't look pretty.

I had my Oral Balance Dry Mouth Moisturizing Gel with me so I decided I would give it a try. This is really a true story as are all my stories! I put it on one night and the cold sore was gone the next morning!
