Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips 6 ea —

Quick View: I suppose the no pain, no gain adage comes into play here but I'll pass, tyvm. These strips hurt and I just don't think they can be good for my skin being as harsh as they are. They DO get some really yecky looking gunk out of pores though.

About Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips

One day, when I was gazing into my 10X mirror (see review), I saw my pores. They looked like manhole covers! Wow. I don't have generally large pores but at 10 times the magnification, I could see inside my face and it wasn't pretty. I bought some Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips, determined to strip my nose area of everything that could possibly be in my pores. These strips are individually wrapped. You unwrap one, wet your nose area and then stick one on across the bridge of the nose. The strip covers the sides of the nose. Then you wait until the strip dries. This takes around 10 minutes or so for me. When the strip is hard and crackly, it's ready to be removed. Or, in my case, ripped unmercifully from my skin. I did everything right then ripped off the strip. HOLY MOLY! That really hurt. The area was red and none too pleased with me, I sensed. The strip did have some fun looking "stuff" on it though. Little black pieces of what looked like tiny hairs which I assume were ... pore dirt? Eww.

After my poor nose settled down, I applied an alcohol free toner and moisturizer and all was well. But I really didn't see much difference in the overall look of my pores. I did study the area in the evil magnified mirror and my pores were clearer. So this does work. But I don't think ripping strips off my face is too good for the delicate skin I am trying to preserve. I won't use these strips again. I use facial scrubs and they seem to work just fine without the pain.

My Viewpoint

I think Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips are made more for those with oily skin who tend to break out and have large pores. I have dry skin and never break out around my nose, of all places. I usually get on pimple a month in the same spot on my chin but not much else. Since my skin probably isn't the right type, that could be why I really had an unpleasant experience. That and I have heard that gently peeling the strip off is much less painful. I ripped it off like the sadistic lady who gave me a bikini wax ripped the wax off me. Not smart. These are fine for what they are but I don't want to use them. I give them 3 stars based only on my experience but I recommend them. They may work wonders for you.

I tried these last night and peeled the one off my nose gently, both sides at a time, as the instructions suggested, and it barely hurt at all.. and the gunk on the strip was NASTY. Didn't irritate my nose at all and it's all smooth and stuff today, and my pores (which DID look like little black dots on my face) are now clear and not as visible. I love these strips. I also tore one in half and put a side on each side of my nose, then put one on my chin and one on my forehead as well.. none of them hurt. but the ones on the rest of my face only had a FEW of the little "hairs" (actually dirt) on them so I imagine the reason they only do nose strips is that that's the worst place for getting clogged pores? So I really do love and recommend the strips, but then again, I DO have oily skin, so maybe they worked better for me for that reason.

Nicely done. They can hurt, and I am not sure they are really that great, because mine seem to have the clogged oil gunk on only parts of the strip. Also, as said below, I agree... what about the rest of our face, but that would really hurt lol!

I used these too...no thanks. Why just "nose" strips? What about the rest of your face? Didn't seem necessary, and they sure were unpleasant! LOVE the clown pic too !!!
