Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon (formerly Barbary Coast) - Las Vegas, NV Review Summary

If you want a Las Vegas hotel at a bargain price, consider Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon. This hotel is smaller than most of the others in Las Vegas, but it has a very helpful and courteous staff, clean rooms, and is located on the Las Vegas Strip. Reviewers say this is a very inexpensive hotel for this prime location and they like that it is only a short walk to many Las Vegas attractions. Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon has received comments like “Am Definitely Returning Back- Best Hotel yet” and “Location, Location, Location & Cheap”. Some reviewers admit that since Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon is a little smaller, it doesn’t offer the extensive hotel amenities like those you get in the larger hotels. But this is still a very good Hotel/Resort and it makes a great choice for a Las Vegas traveler who is on a tight budget.

A NICE, CLEAN, and MODERN hotel ON THE STRIP for $50 a night weekday $99 weekend??? — Wireless internet, Pay Movies, 50 inch FLAT SCREEN TV, STRIP VIEWS .. ?? — Clean, safe, free parking, perfect location (near Paris, across from Bellagio/Cesars Palace!!) — Seriously I am NEVER staying anywhere else again (except MGM Signature when I want to splurge!!) — I thought the decor was too old and frumpy looking.. but hubby wanted to go here for ages.. (probably lured in by the huge TV!!)  I ended up LOVING this… read full review »

This hotel was overall the best I have been in. I was a little hesitant on staying because the pix made it look old, but I am sure glad I went for it. When we first arrived the security automatically helped us find the enterance and from there on any staff we happened to run into volunteered their help. Check in took maybe 5 mins, and they upgraded us to a room where you could see the bellagio fountains which I loved during the night. The rooms were nice and clean, and let me tell you the beds were amazing!! I liked the little window they had in the bathroom, and it was nice having the sink… read full review »

I had a great stay here. This was my first stay here (although I have stayed at other places on the strip many times). Upon checking in, I was upgraded to a corner room, with a great view of the strip (and the Bellagio fountains!). The room was clean, masculine, and very comfortable. The bed and pillows were great. Nice large tv, but poor channel selection (like in most Las Vegas hotels). Nice touch with a window in the shower. Great airconditioning. Kept the room nice and cool! Nice view from window. Did hear a little strip noise, but not enough to bother me! Maid… read full review »

Bill's Gamblin Hall and Casino is the best deal in Vegas. I have to tell you that when I told the van driver at the airport to take me to Bill's he said he'd never heard of it! When I explained that it was the former Barbury Coast and that it had been renamed Bill's . . he said that's a dumb name! I couldn't disagree with him more. The name fits and the accommodations were wonderful. The hotel is only 4 stories high which is nice because you can always catch an elevator and you're not staying in a crowded hotel! The casino portion is layed back and friendly. Make sure you catch Big… read full review »

Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon was a GREAT place to stay in Las Vegas. We were in the middle of the Strip where we could walk to many of the sites we were interested in seeing. However, we could not participate in the Casino part of the Hotel. The dining options were good but we ate elsewhere. Bill's was very clean and comfortable. This Hotel is small compared to the other places in Vegas. The staff was friendly and helpful to us. We were pleased with the sense of security provided during our stay. The rooms were modern ,especially the plasma TV. I would highly recommend… read full review »

The barbary coast hotel is probably the cheapest hotel in this part of the city. Its location is perfect, right on the strip, close to the bigger ones like the Caesar and Bellagio, both at a walking distance. the rooms are clean, average size, with a nice big LCD screen. the dining options are poor, the restaurant has few seats and the menu is somewhat limited (however, it's a life saviour at 5 in the morning after a crazy night). Staff is ready to help but not spectacular. The casino is fun and always full. Overall ? well, the cheapest hotel. if your budget is tight, go for… read full review »

The hotel was ok. The bed was very comfy, and the flat screen tv was nice. My only complaint is that the disabled rooms are not very accesable for someone in a wheelchair. the bathroom is very small and cramped no room to turn around (in a wheelchair). It was hard to get to the tub with toilet so close. And the bars around the toilet were in the way of the shower. The casino needs some serious updating and more filters to control the cigarette smoke.Money Savers: Not Applicable, Rather than renting a car if you are going to stay aroung the casinos ride the Dueces. They are a double decker bus… read full review »

Great things about this hotel: 1. Location, Location, Location - Center strip 2. 42 plasma TV on wall in every room 3. Walk-in closet, large bathroom 4. Real glasses in bathroom, not plastic junk 5. Hotel size - you can get from your room to the outside in one minute 6. Two great gourmet restaurants Not so great things: 1. If you have a car you can only get in/out via traffic congested Flamingo, valet or self-park. 2. Comps for table players not as generous as other places I've stayed. Best $$ value on the strip!Entertainment: Short Walk, Bellagio, Bally's and Paris,… read full review »

Bill's gambling Hall is just as comfortable as it was when it was the Barbery Coast. People are friendly especially the staff. We had the best room in town #104. We loved it and would ask for it again. Food is delicious. We even liked the little lady that sold hot dogs. And they were delicious. It's easy to get to other casinos with the sky walks and escalators. We love that corner. It's on the corner of Ballys, Ceasers, and Belagio. Couldn't have been better except it was a little cold when we were there. We will go again.Dining: In Hotel, Best food. The beef and Broccoli was great. My… read full review »

The Barbary Coast is at the center of the Las Vega strip, making it easy to walk to all the other hotels, casinos, restaurants and attractions. The hotel is reasonably priced, small and managable, but there is no pool. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Michael's Restaurant (pricey) served great food with fabulous service in a rich setting.Recreational Attactions: Short Walk, 1. Tours of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, Red Rock Canyon can be booked and pick up is at Bally's directly across the street. —… read full review »

The Barbary Coast is a good hotel/casino if you want to be right on the heart of the strip, but are not looking for the full resort feel. There is no pool and the dining area looked only ok, but with so much else going on you don't have to feel required to eat there. The staff was friendly, the cleaning was good. the room overall was nice, great big TV, limited channels though. Overall a very good location, and good facility if you're not looking for the full resort experience in… read full review »

If you're going to Vegas and want to stay right in the middle of the Strip stay here. Right across the street from Bally's, Bellagio and Caesar's. Right next to teh Flamingo. Access to the monorail from Bally's & Flamingo. Hotel was clean. Nice small casino. When we go back to Vegas, we'll stay here again. Value for the money = can't be beat.Time Savers: Short Walk, Monorail. Get the all day pass. Save your feet & legs. —… read full review »

I like this hotel, its very close to all the major other hotels. The room we had was nice size, clean, and very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the noise from traffic outside. This didn't keep us up but you do notice it. I will always come back to the Barbary for the price and location.Shopping: Short Walk, This is right across the street from some major shopping. —… read full review »

Would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were very clean and updated. It was easy to find your room because the casino was not that big. The location was great! We had breakfast at the hotel every morning and it was every bit as good a value for your dollar as the hotel!Entertainment: Short Walk, You can catch the tram from the back of the Flamingo next door. —… read full review »
