How about a big mug or tall glass of flavorful, *low-calorie* chai tea?     I love to prepare **Bigelow Vanilla Chai Tea** six cups at a time.  I nuke the water, drop four teabags in when it boils, wait six to ten minutes (I like it strong) then usually let it cool down since iced-tea is my preference.     Of course Chai tea is great with whole milk and honey.  But **Bigelow Vanilla Chai** does very nicely with something less than a quarter cup non-fat milk and 3-5 drops of **Sweetleaf Stevia Clear natural sweetener** (see my review).  The result satisfies your need for sweet *and* a tasty blend of spices enhanced with vanilla.      Total calorie count?  Twenty-five max *if* you were to use a full quarter cup milk.     For a little more, guilt-free enrichment you can substitute non-fat half-and-half for the milk.  Whichever you choose, **Bigelow Chai Tea** is cozy in the cup and totally refreshing cold.     Bigelow's teas always have character.  For a low-cost grocery store tea, I prefer them over other brands.

I like Bigelow teas, including Vanilla Chai. It is flavorful and a bit unique - a nice change from plain black teas. The problem I have with it is the artificial flavor. Bigelow generally makes their teas without artificial flavors, and other chai makers generally don't use artificial flavors either.

Vanilla Chai is one of Bigelow's line of vanilla-flavored teas. The vanilla and spice smells upon opening the box are quite strong and appealing, although they are rather more subdued in the actual tea. With some sweetener and milk, it tastes pretty much like a coffeehouse chai. I like to drink it while relaxing and reading in the evening. One advantage to this particular brand of chai is that, unlike some chai mixes, it is unsweetened and unwhitened. Thus, you can add whatever sweetener and creamer you want. In my case, that means Splenda and low-fat milk, since I am trying to lose weight. I wish that Bigelow would sell a variety pack containing all of their vanilla flavors, since I like some of the others as well, and would like to be able to choose from an assortment rather than (as I do now) using up a whole box of one flavor and then purchasing another.
