When I go to Big lots, it's for one of two items...maybe both. They carry stacks of blank CDs (50 count) usually from HP for $9.99! That beats anybody, hands down. They also carry blank CD cases (either slim line or full) for a couple of bucks. I used to DJ at oldies parties & for crowds that wanted everything from the 50s to todays dance music. I still make a few CDs for friends. The rest of the electronics dept. you can keep. Mostly junk.
Occasionally I find other things there I need, such as a fry pan at a good price. In the Spring & Summer they carry Bar-B-Cue grills. Once again, mostly junk. However, it's a good place to find charcoal & lighter fluid.
Another reviewer stated the stores are "dirty". I've never had that problem. The one closest to me is always clean & organized. As another review said..."Stay away from the food & snack items." I agree. They get the overstocks & nearly out-dated items.
Some years ago, my son & I were planning a trip to Meramec State Park. I found an inflatable raft at an unbelievable price. The same one as at Wal-Mart. An old, fat man & a kid in an inflatable raft... I'm glad no one had a video camera going.
Browse around...stick with the name brands, and you may find a real bargain.
