Bichon Frisse Dog Breed Review Summary

One reviewer describes his Bichon as "the best dog I've ever had." Our dog loving reviewers had a lot of ways of describing the Bichon breed "empathetic", "cheerful", "playful", "cuddly", "soft", "warm", "loyal", "neat" and "smart", but the bottom line is that they love this breed. They do say that Bichons need to be to be brushed daily or their hair can become matted. But clearly they find the maintenance to be a very small price to pay for great companionship. Lady is my second Bichon Frise. After having one for 15.5 years I had to have another.

These dogs are empathetic, playful, cheerful, cuddly, soft, warm, loyal, and smart. They can handle being left alone better than many breeds. Lady likes to rub against me like a cat, pounces on her toys and dog biscuits the way a cat does, bats around ice cubes and kibbles of dog food like a cat, and occasionally meows!

They're also sturdy for a small dog without being bulky. You can get surprisingly rough with these little dainty things. They understand more than they like to let onto and will sometimes...

Ever since I first saw a Bichon I have wanted one. Last year we brought Zachary into our home and heart. He is so very cute and makes such faces that even when he is doing something he knows he should not do it is hard to punish him.

He was easy to house train, he is neat and does not have that "doggie smell." He is the perfect pet for allergy sufferers, and even likes to be brushed every day, which is necessary due to his thick coat.

He is a little stubborn, and a bit moody-- he does not like loud laughter unless he is causing it. But when he is tired and cuddly there is...

My Brother and his family own a Bichon and She is a wonderful family member.

She is great with all kinds of people, good with children, is very obedient and follows commands without hesitation.  She is cuddly, loving and Loyal.  She is a great dog and this breed is great for a family with any aged child.  they don't have a mean bone in their bodies and will make any family a proud owner.  They are also good for traveling, and can be left alone for periods of time without any complaints.  I would recommend this breed to anyone especially those in apartments or smaller living areas.  they are...

I've had my Bichon (Blizzard) for six years.  I purchased him in the spring and he was very easy to train.  Even at 8 weeks old, he never went to the bathroom in the house.  He loves to sit on your lap.  Truely a lap dog and only weighs 9 pounds.

The Bichon Frise is hands down the best breed ever!  They are great for allergy suffers and if you have children.  The bichon is wonderful with children of all ages and is not snappy like a lot of breeds.  They are so funny to watch with the do the "bichon blitz."  If you are thinking of getting a dog, the bichon is the best way to go!  My only advice is to make sure you have plenty of time to groom you dog, because they must be brushed ever single day.

My Bishon (Elvis)  is sometimes smarter than we are. I named him Elvis because we live on Granceland Dr. He has trained us well.  I got him as a puppy when he was 8wks old.  He has become the best part of our family.  The only thing negative is he don't like to ride.  I bought him a carseat and that does help. He is just like a child.  He he much company to me as I am retired and stay at home a lot.  He does not shed or smell.

My bichon frise is one of the best dogs imaginable.  I had owned various different breeds of small dogs, and could never find the right fit.  The Bichon was so easy to train and very intellegent. She doesn't chew on anything, she rarely even barks.  She is one of the best behaved dogs I have ever come across.  I would buy definitely buy another one of these breeds.
