This is a great bookstore. The owners have culled and organized the place into a user-friendly den of stimulating shelves, odd old prints, cool locally published ephemera and they will always go out of their way to help you find something special, even if it isn't on hand.

It's right across the street from the Fox Theater and they've been there for many years -- a real Oakland institution. I can always find some great text on costume making that I'm looking for and one of the owners has my interests in mind and lets me know when they get new additions to their stock. The owners are great searchers...

This is an absoltely phenomenal store with 2 owners who are more than willing to go above and beyond for absolutely anyone...the bloodhounds of the books!!!If you like scoring great one of a kind finds while simultaneously getting a fantastic bargain on it and sucking up some great atmosphere and great service to boot this is absolutely the store for you!

This store can transform non-bookworms into inveterate browsers. If you love books and their histories, you can find great additions to your collection. If you just love books(and maybe don't know so much about them), this is the place to find surprises that will delight you. And the owners know a lot to help you find whatever you want.
