Apologetix is an amazing band.  They are like the Weird Al Yankovicks of Christian Music.  They do parodies of popular secular songs.  Instead of changing the lyrics so that they are really weird, they change them so that they carry a Christian message.

For example, in their song I'm Gonna Feed (500 Mouths) (which is on the CD Adam Up), they parody The Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be.  In the song instead of saying "When I wake up, well you know I'm gonna be", they sing "When I bake stuff with the dough I'm gonna knead".  Also their song Should I Pray or Should I Go is a spoof of Should I Stay or Should I Go and is about deciding whether to stay in your home area or go out on missions work.

Some of their songs are funny but even the funny ones are about stories in the Bible or about issues facing Christians.  They are very talented and their background music which they perform themselves sounds very much like the original artists.  They do both classic rock and modern stuff as well.

Anyone who thinks only of organs and big choirs singing songs over a hundred years old when they think of Christian music should give these guys a try.  If you like the style of secular music but wish it had better lyrics, then this is the band for you.  They have several albums (CD's) out and all of them are good.
