Betty Crocker Warm Delights Mini's Molten Caramel Cake —

I have a new love in my life!!  Shhh---don't tell my husband!!  It's Betty Crocker Warm Delights Mini's Molten Caramel Cake

This is a wonderful invention!  I love sweets and really enjoy cakes and pastries.  However, making a cake leads to me eating more than I should and makes watching the calories transfer to my body.  So, I seldom bake full size cakes.  My problem is now solved.  I can enjoy a small cake dessert with Betty Crocker Warm Delights Mini's Molten Caramel Cake.  This product comes two per package, are individually sealed so you can have them for a dessert for two people or have one whenever your heart desires.  Each individual cake contains 150 calories.  Each package retails for around $2.50.  It is more expensive than a cake mix, but much more convenient!  You can also buy a regular size of Warm Delights which come in cakes mixes and brownies.

How do you prepare these?  It's easy!!  You just empty the cake mix into the bowl and add one tablespoon of water and 1 teaspoon of water.  Mix it up.  Open the caramel pouch and squeeze the pouch to release the caramel and drizzel over the top of the cake mix.  Now you just need to pop the bowl into your mircoware for 30 seconds.  That's all it takes to prepare this cake.

My Viewpoint

I really didn't expect this to be very good at all.  I figured the cake would not cook evenly, it would be soggy in the middle and hard around the edges.  I was totally wrong!  This little cake cooked up very well and evenly with the caramel melting and cooking both on the top and inside the chocolate cake.  Betty Crocker Warm Delights Mini's Molten Caramel Cake has a very good flavor also.  It is very tasty--who can resist chocolate and caramel together?  It reminds me of a caramel brownie and works perfectly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top if you want to indulge!

I love the size of the mini's.  This is a single serving dessert (on the small side for those watching calories) that allows you to indulge every now and then and not have to feel guilty!
I have brought these to work with me a couple of times for a mid afternoon snack.  They are great for packiing in with lunches if you have a microwave available.

I gave this product only 4 stars because of the price.  You can purchase a cake mix for under $1.00 that will serve a dozen or more.  Yet this costs 2 x as much and only serves 2!

I like it!  I love it!  I really do!

Tastes like something from an Easy Bake oven. I wouldn't recommend this unless you're still into drug-induced munchies.

That's true! Baking a whole cake is wasteful around here now with the hubby diabetic. And I certainly don't need to eat the whole thing!--Karen

Yep! But you see, that's how they get you. They make you feel like making a cake would be soooooo hard, when really those cake mixes only take 5 mins to make.

MMM sounds good, but like you said, expensive! Maybe I'll try it out next time I'm having a dessert craving since it's so easy, but I don't think it will be something I buy just to have in the house.

Does sound pretty expensive, considering how cheap and easy regular cake mixes are....
