Excellent Brownie Betty Crocker Walnut Supreme

5

I love brownies, and I am NOT big on making things from scratch.  I NEVER have the ingredients, and it always makes a big mess.  What I love about the Betty Crocker Walnut Supreme brownie mix is that I don't have to chop any nuts.  The walnuts are nice and big and very generous.  Every bite has a nice walnut bit in there. The fact that these have Hersery Chocolate makes them super chocolately.  I like a deep dark chocolate flavor to my brownies and this really add that touch to it. To keep your brownies from being too dried out, really watch the clock while you are cooking them.  I tend to take mine out a minute or two early, and that makes then nice and moist! Do not skimp on your brownie mix brands, buy the real deal like Betty Crocker and you can't go wrong.  These make a nice thick brownie.  And, you won't get the extras like the excellent quantity of walnuts and Hershey chcocolate!

Great brownie mix but not as chewie as I'd hoped!

This was a great brownie mix but I have definitely had better. I like brownies a little mushy and chewy and this one was a little hard and dry... I cooked it for 15 minutes less than what the box said to do. The chocolate itself wasn't very rich either.

Fudgy Delight

This is a great brownie mix that is not only easy to make, but comes out looking great.  The addition of the plump brownies adds a thicker texture to the brownies and a crunch in each bite.  Each brownie is made with real Hershey's Dutch cocoa and tastes fudgy and moist.  This dessert is so easy to make and goes from box to oven in just a few minutes.  Just mix up the batter with your wet ingredients, stir and pour in your pan.  The batter is thick and fudgy.  It is so easy and the brownies have a superb chocolate taste and a great chewy and soft texture.  They bake up with a crisp outside and soft and gooey inside.  Each brownie is about 120 calories and 3.5 grams of fat, and tastes delicious.  I like the added crunch of the walnuts, and they are sure to satisfy any chocolate craving.  They are great served plain or topped with ice cream.  You will want to make two batches, because everyone will love them.  They are the perfect texture and chocolate taste, and everyone will think they are made from scratch and not from a box.

I grew up making brownies from scratch, so it takes a decent mix product to make me happy. Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie Mix with Walnuts and including Hershey's Chocolate is a good one. It's my second pick on brownie mixes. It's quite easy to make these brownies. Just add 2 eggs, 1/2 cup vegetable oil and 3 TBS of water. Stir. Do not stir too much though, or the brownies will be tough. Don't use a mixer on brownies; that ruins the brownie texture. It's really not hard to make brownies from scratch, but there are times when I may be out of something I need for baking. That's when the back up box mixes are nice. I generally have a box or two of brownie mix on hand. Those come in handy if I suddenly discover I've been volunteered to send a dessert somewhere. Long story that. Mothers will understand. The batter from Betty Crocker is thick and rich. Some of the other brands are a bit thin for brownies. They come out more cake-like rather than traditionally with the brownie texture. I like this particular mix in the Betty Crocker brownie line, because I especially like nuts in brownies. This one has English walnuts which are very tasty. At home, I use pecans. But the pecan trees have not done well the last two years. This impacts on price. If I have my own nuts, I come out better making my own brownies. During lean nut years, I'm probably better off to catch brownie mixes with nuts on sale. The boys love these brownies. One box just does not do it. They end up fussing about who ate up the brownies. I make two boxes and use the 9 x 11 (or 9 x 13) baking pan. With two mixes, the cooking time is the same as the 9 x 9 pan at 35 to 40 min baked at 350 F. The large pan size cooking time on the box is for one mix with a shorter time due to the batter being thinner. It's not so great when spread that thin either. Too dry. If you want a big pan of Betty Crocker brownies, get two boxes. Brownies need to cool a bit before being cut. This is something my boys have a hard time dealing with. They want to cut them right out of the oven. Brownies crumble if cut too soon. Allow 20 to 30 minutes before cutting. Or give your kids spoons and let them have at it. Mine have been known to do that I must confess.
