If you are someone like me who enjoys a good tuna casserole, but either don't want to do the work to make one or don't know how.  There is a very simple alternative and that is Tuna Helper.  Tuna Helper comes in a few different flavors, and one of the them is Tuna Tetrazzini.  Tuna Tetrazzini is not exactly like a Tuna casserole, it is kind of a mix of a tuna fettuccini type dish and a tuna casserole.  It is creamy like a casserole, but the noodles are thinner, like a noodle side dish.  But this is a main dish to be sure.

You can find Betty Crocker Tuna Tetrazzini by the Hamburger Helper at your grocery store.  It is relatively in-expensive at an average price of $1.59, but it can often be found on sale for less, and you can often find coupons for it.  This price is for a 6.4 oz box.  The box comes with 2 different packages, one of the packages contains the thin noodles, the other pouch contains the seasoning and sauce mix.

To prepare you add 2 cups of hot water to good sized frying pan. To that you 1 cup of milk and ½ stick of butter or margarine. You then add in one 6 oz can of drained tuna. You can also use tuna pouches 3 to 7 oz. You then pour in both the noodles and the contents of the sauce packet.

Stir them all together, bring it to a boil and lower the heat to a simmer, let it simmer for 12 minutes or until the pasta is tender. Stir occasionally. After you turn off the heat allow it to stand for a couple of minutes before serving this will allow the sauce to thicken. The directions say to cover the pan when cooking, but I never do, it works just fine with out a cover, the one time I did cover it, it burned.

You can also prepare it in the oven in a casserole dish. Reduce the amount of milk and water by ¼ cup, and add just 3 tablespoons of butter or margarine, the water will need to be boiling rather than just hot for the oven method,

Betty Crocker Tuna Helper Tuna Tetrazzini is a wonderful tasting, it is creamy, and nicely spiced.  The noodles are the perfect shape consistency.

The only problem with the Betty Crocker Tuna Helper Tuna Tetrazzini is that it is a bit high in fat, so obviously you can't eat this all the time, but for an occasional quick meal, this is wonderful, all you need to do is add a vegatable and you will have a nice balanced meal.

I personally really love this, I love the convenience, the price, and the taste.  I do recommend Betty Crocker Tuna Helper Tuna Tetrazzini
