The magazine "Better Homes and Gardens", with it's web site clues and articles is one of my favorite magazines.
I find the articles very informative and current. With the economy being as fragile as it is "Better Homes and Gardens " always has articles giving me hints on stretching the groceries, wasted spaces, and entertainment.
I have been able to use the hints on line to make craft boxes for my grandkids. These keep them entertained both inside and outside.
I have been using shoe boxes forever, but never thought of decorating them so they can stay where the items stored in them are needed.
The make overs and decorator's comments are interesting. I have to admit that I haven't become so brave as to take on a whole room, but my porch is looking interesting with a few of the recycling ideas BH&G has brought forward. I have a rusted out paint can bolted to the wall to keep my gloves for gardening in.
An article a few years back got me to thinking. You can substitute in every aspect of your life not just in recipes. I had always wanted a rock garden. Since I didn't have rocks, but had many large branches from some cedar trees that had died on my property, I could make a garden around the strategically placed limbs. I think my wood garden is just the thing.
I enjoy the recipes and have added many of them to our normal menu.
