Okay, so I like romantic comedies. And, I am going to attempt to share my favorites here. In my mind, these are the best romantic comedies ever! (I admit I didnt include the classic romantic comedies... I thought I would focus on more modern romantic movies). I am wondering what you think are the top romantic comedies too! (maybe we can swap favorites!)
Okay, here is my Top 10 Romantic Comedies list but I am sure it should be more like the Top 100 romantic comedies. :)
Here goes... and the Romantic Comedy winners are........
Although it is true that I, like many men, tend to favor action-adventure, war, Westerns, police dramas and science fiction films, I also admit that I have a somewhat romantic nature and will, on occasion, watch a few movies that focus on the funny, uplifting, heartwarming, exhilarating, confusing, and even painful aspects of love, dating, and, yes, even sex.
Usually, when it comes to "love stories" I tend to go for more serious fare along the lines of, well, Love Story and Casablanca, which are two classics which reflect two different eras in both the historical sense and the movie-making one. ...

You won't find romantic dramas like Casablanca, or epics like Gone with the Wind, and I don't try to slip in a quirky weird film that really isn't a comedy or really isn't a romantic movie either as some have done in their lists. I figured if the film is more satire and comedy than romance-I'll leave it off this particularly list (so no Princess Bride here either).
Anyway, here's a Baker's...
read full review »I absolutely love romantic comedies! I saw this thread and had to comment. I have to admit, it was a little hard to narrow it down to just ten! Many of mine are the same as others already listed, but there are a few I just couldn't leave off the list.
1. The Princess Bride-- Robin Wright Penn and Cary Elwes
2. Pretty Woman-- Julia Roberts and Richard Gere
3. French Kiss-- Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline
4. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days-- Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey
5. Just Like Heaven-- Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo
6. The Wedding Date-- Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney
7. Must...

In no particular order, here they are:
1. When Harry Met Sally This movie isn't just about romance and humor. It's also about how friendship is the best possible foundation for a marriage. The most well-known scene of Meg Ryan faking an orgasm in a diner still makes me laugh, but the rest of the movie does too, especially when Harry and Sally's two best friends, Marie and Jess, ditch their respective title dates in the midst of their...

1. WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING (Sandra Bullock/Bill Pullman) One of the sweetest movies I've ever seen (and I've seen a kajillion)...This would be one of my best recommendations. All Lucy wants is a family and someone to love and to be loved back and no one deserves it more. Her struggle to decide whether to reveal the truth or go with the flow makes for a hilarious storyline but one that brings tears to your eyes....both sad and happy....

1. The Notebook
2. The Wedding Planner
3. The Wedding Singer
4. Never Been Kissed
5. Sleepless in Seattle
6. You've Got Mail
7. Seems Like Old Times (Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn)
8. While You Were Sleeping
9. 50 First Dates
10. An Affair to Remember
If you've never seen them before, go ahead...I'm sure they will be your favorites too!
I LOVE movies. I pretty much all kinds, but my favorite of all time wa Notebook. Maybe because I could relate to it the most. The other all time favorite was Urban Cowboy. I love romance, but action is good too. I like to laugh and I love great casts. These movies are all great.
I love to watch a good romantic comedy, one that is worth buying because it was that good. I like a classic movie that will still be good years from now. I like to purchase these movies for those "stay at home" days when "there is nothing on TV." My favorites are:
Gone With the Wind, Fried Green Tomatoes, Steel Magnolias - 3 musts for all Southern women
Sabrina - the old and new versions
Yours, Mine and Ours - the old and new versions
While You Were Sleeping, 2 Weeks Notice, Hope Floats - gotta love Sandra Bullock
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Return to Me - All star cast that was a perfect mesh
Romantic movies are my favorite and there are so many to choice from. One of my favorite is While you where sleeping everytime it comes on I watch it. I watched it so much that I got it for Christmas in a DVD that was last year. I have see You got mail and Sleepless in Seattle, when Harry meet Sally. Well I few years ago I fell in love with another good movie called Lucky 7 with Kim Pressley and Patrick Dempsey excellant movie and very fun to watch. If you have every seen it you will see that it is a good feeling movie. One Thanksgiving I was looking for something to watch on TV but did not...
