Okay, so I like romantic comedies. And, I am going to attempt to share my favorites here. In my mind, these are the best romantic comedies ever! (I admit I didnt include the classic romantic comedies... I thought I would focus on more modern romantic movies).  I am wondering what you think are the top romantic comedies too! (maybe we can swap favorites!) — Okay, here is my Top 10 Romantic Comedies list but I am sure it should be more like the Top 100 romantic comedies. :) — Here goes... and the Romantic Comedy winners are........ —… read full review »

Inspired and challenged by Jolie’s review Best Romantic Comedies: My Top Ten List, I’ve decided to share my own favorite romantic comedies. When love meets laughter, this girl wants to eavesdrop. I start with an all time favorite and move forward by date of release. I hope you’ll see some familiar friends and a few you’d like to meet. — — 1. Pretty Woman — 1990, R — Starring: Julia Roberts & Richard Gere — — This love story of between down on her luck turned streetwalker, Vivian (Roberts) and millionaire, workaholic, Edward… read full review »

Although it is true that I, like many men, tend to favor action-adventure, war, Westerns, police dramas and science fiction films, I also admit that I have a somewhat romantic nature and will, on occasion, watch a few movies that focus on the funny, uplifting, heartwarming, exhilarating, confusing, and even painful aspects of love, dating, and, yes, even sex. — Usually, when it comes to "love stories" I tend to go for more serious fare along the lines of, well, Love Story and Casablanca, which are two classics which reflect two different eras in both the historical sense and… read full review »

After writing a series of  Romantic Movie double features, I neglected to go back and create a list of Romantic Comedies.    So  here are the romantic comedies I consider the very best of the best. —  You won't find romantic dramas like Casablanca, or epics like Gone with the Wind, and I don't try to slip in a quirky weird film that really isn't a comedy or really isn't a romantic movie either as some have done in their lists.   I figured if the film is more satire and comedy than romance-I'll leave it off this particularly list  (so no… read full review »

I absolutely love romantic comedies!  I saw this thread and had to comment.  I have to admit, it was a little hard to narrow it down to just ten!  Many of mine are the same as others already listed, but there are a few I just couldn't leave off the list. — 1. The Princess Bride-- Robin Wright Penn and Cary Elwes — 2.  Pretty Woman-- Julia Roberts and Richard Gere — 3.  French Kiss-- Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline — 4.  How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days-- Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey — 5.  Just Like Heaven-- Reese Witherspoon and… read full review »

The best romantic comedies for me should stand-up to repeated (ad nauseum) viewings, inspire me to cuddle with my husband and make me laugh as well.  — In no particular order, here they are: — 1.  When Harry Met Sally  This movie isn't just about romance and humor.  It's also about how friendship is the best possible foundation for a marriage.  The most well-known scene of Meg Ryan faking an orgasm in a diner still makes me laugh, but the rest of the movie does too, especially when Harry and Sally's two best friends, Marie and… read full review »

Let's see...Top Ten Romantic Comedies...Good Grief...How about if I do top Five?  It'll be too hard to think of 10 without getting up from my papasan chair!!! — 1.   WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING (Sandra Bullock/Bill Pullman)  One of the sweetest movies I've ever seen (and I've seen a kajillion)...This would be one of my best recommendations.  All Lucy wants is a family and someone to love and to be loved back and no one deserves it more.  Her struggle to decide whether to reveal the truth or go with the flow makes for a hilarious storyline but one that brings… read full review »
