Good list, Jolie! As I go back a little further, I have to cast a vote for "When Harry Met Sally". Hope you've seen it! (I'm noticing quite a few tapes of it at Goodwill these days.)

Bride and Prejudice is one of my absolute faves! I'm gonna buy it soon, so my girls and I can dance Bollywood style and laugh out loud.
Thanks for your list!

Great list! I love everyone else's additions also. Pretty Woman would be #1 for me. I thought Dying Young was great, but not a comedy. Also people mentioned The Notebook and A Walk to Remember, both books written by Nicholas Sparks. He also wrote Message in a Bottle and Nights in Rodanthe. I haven't read Nights in Rodanthe or seen the movie yet. If anyone has I'd love to read a review. Another favorite of mine is Top Gun, action, adventure, romance, comedy, not sure what genre, but a fun movie, & Tom Cruise at his cutest.

Great list not one movie I would take off that list

Good list. I liked "Dying Young" but I wouldn't put it on alist of comedies. Too much tear factor. I've got a long list going way back to some really old flicks. Will have to give this some thought. Good review.

i'm a big Ben Stiller fan and Something about Mary is hilarious and so is Along came Polly...But the most recent Heartbreak Kid was probably the funniest I've seen so far!!!

I have to add a few you missed. Hope Floats, The Wedding Date, 4 Weddngs and a Funeral, were great too. I could go on, but those were tops.

Ok...here's my list: I agree with The Holiday, Clueless, The Princess Bride and Sweet Home Alabama. But I'd have to add While You Were Sleeping, 27 Dresses (I know it's new, but hasn't wanted to get drunk and karaoke Elton John???), Groundhog Day, The Wedding Planner (Matthew McConaughey, need I say more), Hope Floats, and...Heathers. Trust me on that one.

I own Sweet Home Alabama and break it out just when I think my hope for a good man is gone, and while I do know that it's just a movie, it allows me to hope for the future. I happen to think that Reese Witherspoon is fabulous. I haven't seen some of the movies on your list, but they are now on my "to see" list. I do have two movies that I love and would like to suggest, Something's Gotta Give w/Jack Nicholson & Diane Keaton, and and old school favorite The Money Pit w/Tom Hanks & Shelly Long. Take Care!

I agree with a couple of choices but others are way off. Apparently, I'm the only person who thought "Love, Actually" was lousy. Some other films cited below are dramas, not comedies ("An Officer and a Gentleman," "The Notebook," etc.). They are good movies, just not romantic comedies. You could include "The Witness" in that category, as it is a thriller with a great romance... but not a comedy. Romantic comedies you should consider are "The Goodbye Girl," "The Wedding Singer," "Sliding Doors," "Sleepless in Seattle," "Dave," "The American President" and "Bridget Jones Diary." There are many others, especially if you go back 30-60 years.
Nice review!

Very interesting! I have a few of these favorites in common with you (Love Actually, Sweet Home Alabama & Pretty Woman) but I think we diverse from there. You are not alone- I saw and enjoyed Dying Young as well. It was one of those movies that 10 people said don't watch and so I had to & really liked it. Thanks for writing this fun review:)

Those are great pics but my wife Dee and I have a few different ones on our list: The Notebook, The Holiday, A Walk in the Clouds, While You Were Sleeping, Sweet Home Alabama, How to Lose a Guy in 10 days, Pretty Woman, Just Like Heaven, You've Got Mail, and 50 First Dates.

Great Pics, I also like Notting Hill!

I think I only saw Pretty Woman out of all of these. I have the strangest tastes in movies. I am going to be writing my top hot picks soon. People will wonder why I think certain mainstream movies are romantic but like I said, I have strange tastes. Great list! I enjoyed reading it,
Your comment has successfully posted
I agree with some of your picks, Sweet Home Alabama, Just Like Heaven, I like Reese too, Pretty Woman. I am not too fond of The Holiday, but the best movie in this category I would like to add is Ghost. I love Demi. Another one, a more recent one, No Reservation, with Catherine Zeta Jones. The Notebook, 50 First Dates, funny and "sweet". I might be able to assist you in the Action category as well.

I'm a closet romantic comedy watcher. But, as a dude, if you out me, I'll deny it, say you hacked my profile and put this comment here, m'kay? One of my personal favorites is "What Women Want", oh, and "Sleepless in Seattle", and "You've Got Mail", and "50 First Dates", ....and......

I didn't know how much I liked romantic comedies until I read your list, and recognized some titles I really, really like (Love, Actually!!!) But Dying Young? Not a comedy! It's a tear-jerker of the highest order!
Have you seen Truly, Madly, Deeply? If not - do so. And make sure you have a box of tissue.
