The Bernina machine has everything you could ever want.  I sew and have used it for almost every type of material.  The attachments are many and even some can be used for more than one job. The machine itself is streamline.  Where you purchase your machine will sell items needed, repair if needed, will keep you updated on new items available and offers free lessons so your are comfortable with each aspect of the machine.  It will make your sewing experience a real joy.  I love it.

My Bernina 1630 is fantastic.  It never breaks down and is easy to operate.  I take it in for servicing every few years and that's all it needs.  I have had this machine for sixteen years, but I don't feel that it is outdated.  Of course, compared to the newer Bernina machines, it is limited in its capabilities, but it sews so well that it is still a pleasure to use.
