I have had my machine in the shop at least 5 times....it is quite heavy to carry, so that is not a good thing. Several times they have worked on it while I was in class at my Bernina Dealer. I also have a 730e for 4 years. ..... 12,000.00 means expectations are high. The dealer has been great, I would refute arguments about care and use since I taught a computer electronic course. I had an old Kenmore that did not go to the shop in 29 years of use, My 730 E Bernina has been great, and it is also a high tech machine. I just carried my 830 today to have it returned to Bernina. My dealer gave me their floor model to use until my new one comes in. I just read about someone whose 2nd machine did not work properly either. I am thinking positively, because I really want this machine to work.
Examples of problems, thread breakage, bobbin breakage, numberous messages referring to both, sometimes accurate, sometimes with no problems. UGLY embroidery, I am using my old electronic Kenmore and 730 E to do embroidery. It just plain does not work, but I love features and the promise of the expanded technology. I am still hopeful that the new one Bernina sends me will be the machine I thought I was buying.
