I'm not at the optium weight, I have allergies and asthma, and I have gall bladder issues. I finally decided to start taking better care of myself, and that action plan included a giant 240 tablet jar of Berkley & Jensen Women's Premium Multivitamins with Minerals & Herbs.
As the name implies, these tablets are specially designed to meet a woman's unique nutrition needs. Along with the usual lineup of vitamins and minerals, these pills contain the extra calcium, iron, and folic acid necessary for all women. Berkley & Jensen Women's Premium Multivitamins with Minerals & Herbs also contains an antioxidant fruit & vegetable blend (including carrot, apple, spinach, pineapple, orange, papaya, soybean, raspberry, and kale powder), green tea extract, cranberry extract, etc. This vitamin/mineral/herb supplement is supposed to be comparable to GNC's Women's Ultra Mega Supplements. A note for those with food allergies: these tablets contain fish (clupea, cod, haddock, pollock, salmon, sardine, sprat), milk, and soy.
As with most potent vitamin supplements, these tablets have a very strong scent and taste. Each pill is large (and shown in realistic size on the front label) and the suggested serving size is 2 tablets once a day with a full glass of water and preferably after a meal. I'm very good about taking fish oil, garlic tablets, vitamin E capsules, etc., but these BJ's Women's Premium Multivitamins are downright difficult for me to get down. I often have the gag reflex going after swallowing them with a few sips of water and just have to chase them down with the rest of the glass in the hopes of moving them down my esophagus. Even then, it feels like "touch and go" sometimes. I wouldn't mind if the manufacturer decreased the pill size and changed the serving size to 3 per day.
Aside from the whole swallowing/smell ingestion issue, I have no complaints about Berkley & Jensen Women's Premium Multivitamins with Minerals & Herbs. I've been taking them for about a month now with no ill effects. I can't say definitively that they are improving my health, but they certainly aren't hurting things aside from the fact that I get momentarily freaked out when they turn my urine fluorescent yellow. At about $20 for a 3 month supply, I find these BJ's brand vitamins to be reasonably priced and will be happy to buy them again in the future.
