BeneFit Some Kind-A Gorgeous —

Quick View: This is so sheer, you already have to be gorgeous to look gorgeous wearing it. I'm not so I wasn't impressed with this pricey "foundation faker".

About Benefit Cosmetics Some Kind-A Gorgeous

This is a strange cosmetic. It is a very lightweight cream "foundation" in a round compact. It is so sheer that there are no shade choices. One shade is supposed to be good for all skin tones from the palest to the deepest. Weird. This really isn't foundation. It's "foundation faker" designed to even out the skin without giving noticeable coverage or color. The product is creamy going on but dries to a powdery finish. But I swear, I see NO change in my face. It is like I put a very sheer powder on and nothing else. Now, I suppose if I were tan and had a perfect complexion, this would be a nice choice rather than using nothing but I am not tan and my skin is not perfect.

Another thing about this product is that it seems to transfer onto clothes and even people if you lean in for a smooch. Many women really like this product and I sense those women are younger and make up minimalists. I am old...er and, while I don't like to cake makeup on, I want to look as good as I can and real foundations work better for me. This is expensive at $26.00 and, for me, it just didn't DO enough for me to use it often. I use it at home or when I am just running to the store or whatever to give my face a smoother canvas for a touch of blush but won't buy it again.

My Viewpoint

Benefit Cosmetics Some Kind-A Gorgeous seems to be made for those who already ARE gorgeous and don't need much coverage. It is also powdery which may be better for oily skin types. I have dry skin and like a dewy look. For me, this product just didn't do enough for my skin to keep me wearing it often. I will wear it now and then but never if I want to look my best. I give this 3 stars. It's a good product for very, very light coverage on all skin tones and, if you have great skin and just want a little base, this may work for you.

Good point, Patty. I seldom used foundation but now my skin tone can definitely use it. Today I may be going to Ulta!!!! Yay! I'm so excited. I need everything and they're having really good sales. : )

In response to LadyMagic's comment from Apr 4, 2009 at 10:13AM:

It seems companies keep coming up with more and more stuff that we just have to have to look good but really, a nice foundation is the best way to eve skin tone and look fresh.

Those with perfect skin don't even need any type of foundation products, just some moisturizer. Sigh! I'm not one of them. I'm with you. If I'm going to pay that kind of money it will have to do more. Thanks for the info, Patty. Nice job!
