I'm allergic to pollen, dust, cats, dogs, certain dyes/fragrances, and probably other things that I don't even know about.  I also leave my windows open whenever the weather is nice, forget to dust most of the time, and run a cat/dog rescue out of my home.  Okay, so I don't always make the best choices.  In any case, I need something to stop the itching, sneezing, congestion, and occasional rash when my system revolts and says "enough is enough".  When I'm a horrible allergic mess, I turn to Benadryl Allergy Caplets.

For more than 50 years, Benadryl has been my first choice for allergy relief. Not only that, but it may have been a lifesaver!

While vacationing on the coast of South Carolina, I enjoyed a bowl of "She-crab soup." I had never experienced a food allergy, so when I broke out in hives, terrible itching, and eventually had trouble breathing, I went to the hospital emergency room. After a shot of Benadryl, I recovered completely.

These days, I never travel without Benadryl. It just may save my life or someone else's in case of an allergic reaction.

My youngest son was born with a heart murmur and we were advised to be careful of OTC's that would increase his heart rate. Benadryl became our go to for everything from a runny nose, to poison ivy and hives. And yes it can cause drowsiness, but we found that usually after the first dose, that side effect really did not become bothersome for him. ( It may have helped that he was hyperactive, I'm not sure about that ). Many times even a cough was the result of post nasel drip...so Beneadryl even helped with that.

When I've got lots of drainage and runny nose, Benadryl is the only thing that dries me out and keeps my nose from running. I only take it at night before bed because it gets me sleepy fast. I get a good night's rest, and the next day I'm much better. I usually take it 2-3 nights in a row for more complete relief.

Benadryl Allergy Medicine rocks! I love this medicine. It's over-the-counter, so it's easy to find. You don't even have to ask anyone for it.  It does, however, make one sleepy (or at least it does to me).  It provides fast and effective relief. I simply love this if I need it. And, if you have kids, they have a formula especially for them. Further, they don't even mind the taste. Benadryl Allergy liquid cough syrup has no sugar and no alcohol. The dye free clear liquid goes down well. As a Type 2 diabetic, when I get sick I worry that the cold medicine will cause my glucose levels to skyrocket. Benadryl Allergy liquid cough syrup has worked well for me. Benadryl Allergy Medicine

This allergy medication is wonderful; however, the main active ingredient is also that used in over the counter sleep aides. For me, this medication would work on those days which I didnt have to work or have trial. I now take Zrytec which actually does just as well if not better than Benadryl and since it is now over the counter, one can purchase Zyrtec rather than purchasing the Benadryl which is essentially a sleep aide medication with a pink label and titled Benadryl Allergy Medicine.

My daughter has dealt with allergies associated with her schools all of her life. All summer long, she is fine. During spring break she is fine.  But 1 day after school starts, she is sneezing, has a runny nose and red eyes.  So we get out the Benadryl and start the yearly regime.  She takes one in the morning, and symptoms recede within 30 minutes.  The problem is that the effects of that dose wear off in 4 hrs..... 6 if we're lucky.  But she is at school for 7 hrs. and if you want to take medication at school you have to arrange for the nurse to give it to you at the office.... too much...
