Benadryl Allergy Medicine —
With the same active ingredient found in most OTC sleeping pills such as Sominex, the Diphenhydramine used in Benedryl will surely put you to sleep. But does it work as an antihistamime? Yes. Within about 20 minutes, Benedryl goes to work, and for me me dries up my nasal allergies for approximately 4 hours. However be cautious with using it, as I I've noticed a gradual tolerance to it, where it becomes less effective with frequent use. Staying off of it for a few weeks may be necessary for it to be effective once again.
