Benadryl Allergy Medicine Review

For more than 50 years, Benadryl has been my first choice for allergy relief. Not only that, but it may have been a lifesaver!

While vacationing on the coast of South Carolina, I enjoyed a bowl of "She-crab soup." I had never experienced a food allergy, so when I broke out in hives, terrible itching, and eventually had trouble breathing, I went to the hospital emergency room. After a shot of Benadryl, I recovered completely.

These days, I never travel without Benadryl. It just may save my life or someone else's in case of an allergic reaction.

Another benefit is that I've never had a problem with any negative side effects, other than a slight drowsiness, if I take a large dose. Of course, that is a positive side effect when I have trouble sleeping. Just take a 25mg dose, and ease off to sleep, wake refreshed and have a great day.

Finally, I appreciate that I can now visit my sister - who is a veterinarian, and has several cats - just by taking one small dose beforehand. Sis has a few cats, to whom I am highly allergic. Now I can enjoy visiting her, playing with the delightful felines, and enjoy my niece and nephew in complete comfort without the itchy nose, sneezing and cough I used to experience.
