I have been to Vegas many times. I have stayed everywhere on the strip and can with absolute certainty tell you that the Bellagio Hotel is by far my FAVORITE!

Now, I must admit that I am not a huge gambler. So, if you are looking for hotel advice from a crack gambler, it's not me. But, if you are someone who is a little scared to go to Vegas because you think it's cheesy, then, my advice will likely be good for you.

Here's what is great about the Bellagio (in order!)

  • It is one of the only hotels on the strip that feels like it has some class. The people arent typically rowdy and obnoxious, it isnt overcrowded and the decor is warm and classic. (and, admittedly, a little girly)
  • Location. The Bellagio is centrally located. It is right smack in the middle of the strip. I have stayed at the far end of the Strip at the Venetian and it is such a pain. If you are going to dish out the cash, go for the Bellagio!
  • The lobby. I am a big fan of the blown glass artist Chihuly. He designed the lobby ceiling and it is absolutely breathtaking. (if you dont stay at the Bellagio, at least visit the hotel and check this out!)
  • The conservatory. The Bellagio has a beautiful conservatory off the lobby area. Last time I visited it was 4th of July weekend and the decor and flowers blew me away. It was very nice!
  • It's easy to navigate! Is that possible in Vegas? Vegas hotels are all about getting you lost. Not the Bellagio. You can actually get your bearings and find your way out very easily.
  • The Bellagio has so much to offer. There is high end shopping (Gucci, Prada), art galleries and good people watching. I unknowingly picked out my baby present (1st baby) while in Vegas.
  • Water Ballet show. The Bellagio has a really nice water ballet show in the front water. It is ideal to watch from a restaurant at Paris.
  • The pool area is really nice. The Bellagio boasts about 6 pools. It can be crowded, but it is REALLY nice. In fact, I saw someone getting married in the pool area and it was STUNNING! Brought new meaning to a Vegas wedding.

The only downsides to the Bellagio are that it is expensive (on a holiday weekend expect to pay $500 per night!) and the rooms wont blow you away. They are nice, but they wont blow you away. Lastly, I didnt have a chance to visit the spa while I was there, but my friends told me they were pretty disappointed for the price. So, you may want to make your way down to the Canyon Ranch instead.
