My husband has a saying, "buy it cheap and you buy it twice."  As a budget shopper I don't always agree with his sentiment, but when it comes to purchasing paint I have my own saying: "buy low quality paint and spend twice as long painting."  Luckily for me, I don't have to compromise quality or price when it comes to my paint of choice - Behr Interior Satin Paint.

I discovered Behr paint several years ago when the house we had built was completed.  This was going to be the first time in my life that I could pick a color other than beige or taupe to paint a room, and I was excited.  The first can I bought came from a discount store simply because I saw an ad in the paper showing that it was on sale.  While that paint was a nice color, the quality was obviously not high because it did take a couple of coats to cover well even though it was a fairly light color.  We then decided to try buying paint at our local Home Depot store, and I've never used anything else since.

We used the Behr paint for our biggest project - the kitchen.  I was thrilled how nicely it coated without being too thick or drippy.  The color was very true to the paint chip and the satin finish gives off a lovely glow, especially when the morning sun hits it.  Visitors always comment on how warm and inviting the color is (I don't remember the exact name - but it's a golden peachy color).  I've had to do some touch ups since the initial paint job and I'm happy to say that the touch ups are virtually undetectable.  I haven't had much fading at all, and this is a room that receives sun from a southern exposure.

Overall, I can't imagine using any other brand of paint for the money.  Behr paint offers good quality, color matching technology, and a decent price.

I used Behr to paint a deep red color in my bathroom and chose this since I heard it was high quality. After finding out that you should use a special sheep skin roller to paint this dark of a color it worked out great and looks fantastic.

I don't do the painting myself, although I should being the daughter and sister of 2 wonderful painters. But it was never my style. I've heard of Behr, but I don't think we ever used it. I might keep it in mind for the next time we paint. Have no idea what's on these walls. The house was painted when we moved in. Great review. Keep up the good work.
