Beggar BASSETT HOUND —

When our Beagle died an acquaintance asked us to take her 2 bassetts for her due to her move. They are the best dogs ever. Even though they are sisters their personalities are like night and day. Betti and Bertha get along great with other dogs. Another nice thing about them is that bassetts sleep about 18 hours a day-not high exercise dogs.

I used to have a terrific Bassett named Sam. Though he loved his sleep he also loved to go for walks. He did have very long, heavy jowls and managed to get his slobber in the most unusual places. But you have to love them.

Ours get into trouble too (when they aren't sleeping). Betti likes kleenex or any other paper and Bertha loves leather. She will lick the leather couch and eat leather shoes. Gotta luv them.
