Baby Bumblebee's Be Smart Baby Vocabulary Builder DVDs are a great way to teach your children new words and develop their language skills. Designed for children three and under, this series has been a big hit with my kids, and with my wife and I, as it beats the heck out of watching yet another Wiggles video or God forbid, the Teletubbies.

The videos are very straightforward, following the same formula in each volume in the series: while soothing classical music plays in the background, images of a certain thing (a train, for instance) are shown with the word superimposed on the screen and an equally soothing female voice saying the word aloud. This process is repeated several times, reinforcing the lesson most effectively. I have seen firsthand the effectiveness of this approach, as my 2- and 3-year old children have learned many new words through these DVDs.

My three year old son is actually learning to read and write as a result. He has even typed several of the words he's learned from Baby Bumblebee on my laptop, much to my amazement.

So, if you are a parent and are sick and tired of mindless kids videos that contain little or no educational value, get the entire Baby Bumblebee series and you will notice your children grow smarter before your eyes.

And remember, watching Barney will actually lower your child's intelligence. Go Bumblebee!

I wasn't aware of these, so thanks for the review. Think I will look into them for my 18 month old.
