Ugh.  I couldn't even think of any Pros to include in my review.  What happened to this movie??  I feel like it probably had a good start in the development phase, but something went horribly wrong before production began.

In the spirit of full disclosure, let me say that I am not, and have never been a fan of Jerry Seinfeld.  I couldn't stand his show, nor his standup.  I accepted this going into this movie, and set my expectations for enjoyment appropriately low.  At least, I thought to myself, the other actors and script writers will be able to keep my attention and interest.  Boy was I wrong.

Script:  Here's where I think they started strong, then gave up.  It's like they wrote one draft of the script, and called it done.  Where are the jokes?  Where are the fixes for the gaping plot holes?  Did I fall asleep and not realize it?  Admittedly, I chuckled a few times... but never once did I actually laugh.  How is a bee yelling "Box kite!" supposed to be funny?  How does he even know what a box kite IS???

Acting:  Oh, how the mighty have fallen.  Patrick Warburton, WHAT HAPPENED?  I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that every time you tried to read your lines, the director threatened your job if you didn't scream them into the microphone.  Gone was your ability to flesh out and infuse personality into a 2D character.  Gone was your subtle timing and comic appeal.  I won't even critique Seinfled or Zellweger's performances, as they didn't come CLOSE to acting.

Animation:  Realistic motion: check.  Interesting, realistic world: check.  Character design:  eh.  Not one single character looked like they had been really thought through.  There was no overall theme to the character design, so none of the characters looked like they came from the same movie.  It was like the art director had something else on his/her mind and forgot to have the designers meet to compare notes.

Message: I couldn't figure out at the end of the movie if I was supposed to continue eating honey or not.  No, don't eat honey; the bees are slaves to the honey machine and long to do something else with their lives.  They have to make so much honey because humans eat it all.  Yes, eat honey; the bees need something to do and if you don't eat honey, they'll just stop working and somehow all the plants will die.  Huh?

If you really want to see this flick, please don't pay full price.  Wait for the DVD and put it on your Netflix list.  Otherwise, just steer clear and watch something GOOD.  In fact, I'm going to go watch a good movie right now to get this honey taste out of my mouth.
