Love this shampoo!

4

I was recommended this shampoo when I had very damaged hair from bleaching it. I returned to my natural hair color, and started using this shampoo and it was a miracle how much it helped my hair. (Although I'm sure some of it is due to no longer bleaching my hair) My hair is much stronger, healthier, and has grown quite a bit too. I still use heat tools on my hair daily, and the shampoo still keeps my hair healthy. The shampoo also smells very good. I like that the bottle has a pump. This was an overall a great shampoo for making my hair healthier, but it didn't really help with anything else such as volume, or preventing my color from fading. I do not love the price of this shampoo, but it's worth it if you have damaged hair or use heat tools a lot, and it lasts me a long time too. Although I love the shampoo, I do not recommend the conditioner that goes with it. Scent I love the scent of this shampoo - it kind of has a citrus smell.

Self Absorbed, did more for my nose than my hair.

TGIF was a brand that I used to be pretty loyal to (until I stepped away from the brand). This is one of the products that made me make the move. I was super unimpressed by the quality of this shampoo. Sure it smelled like fruity deliciousness, and it lathered up like a dream, but it did almost nothing to my hair. My hair is extremely long, and thick and this stuff weighed it down and took all the bounce and movement out. If you have fine hair, I can only imagine how much it will weigh down your locks. My hair did not feel as clean as I liked it after the wash, and it did not feel as luscious as other products would leave it feeling. I coupled this with the Self Absorbed conditioner and even that fell flat. This stuff was really, really not worth the money. I don't mind spending extra for a good shampoo but I do mind paying more for a sub-par one. I would not recommend this product to a friend, or for anyone that has fine or long hair. Scent The scent is extremely lovely but asides from that, it just did nothing for me.

Not Worth It

Bed Head Self Absorbed Shampoo is not what it sounds like. This shampoo was in my shower for one week before I threw it out from anger and frustration. This "Self Absorbed" shampoo is supposed to absorb into your hair and make it silky soft but it does the opposite. The shampoo is so thick that it is difficult to work into my hair, thus falling off upon attempted application and frustrating me! I paid much more money for this product than I normally do for hair care products because I thought it would be effective or at least have a lasting, pleasant scent. I was wrong about both of those assumptions. It is ineffective and does not smell good at all. Not to mention, it is an eyesore, being the nasty brown color that it is! The last thing I want to put in my hair ir a stinky, thick, brown product. Save your money and buy multiple bottles of the cheaper shampoos. This will save you a lot of anger, resentment, and money!

Did not perform as well as expected

I was introduced to this shampoo earlier this year after visiting a new stylist. She promoted the Bed Head line and specifically told me that the Self Absorbed Shampoo would be perfect for my hair. Since she spoke so highly about the shampoo, I had really high expectations for it. I have fine long hair. Although my hair is fine, I do have a lot of it. My hair tends to tangle easily and is hard to hold a style. I had very high hopes that this shampoo would help with the tangles and keep my hair looking healthy and smooth. The first thing that I noticed was the scent. This shampoo smells amazing! It lathered up nicely and rinsed out perfectly. Then I tried to comb my hair. My hair was so tangled it actually hurt to comb it out. It has not tangled this much in years. I did not do anything differently with the exception of using this shampoo. After I got my hair combed and dried, I noticed that my hair did not feel as good as it had prior to washing it. My hair felt as if it had been stripped of all moisture. It actually felt very rough to me. I was very disappointed to see this as the shampoo was not cheap and it came so highly recommended. I have had better experience with shampoo I have purchased at the grocery store. Scent This shampoo smells very, very good. It was the best thing about this shampoo.

For the best head of hair you have got to use Bed Head! Really!

I have been a customer and fan of Bed Head for over 10 years. I started using their conditioner, Dumb Blonde, it was recommended to me by my hair stylist. It was one of those defining moments for me. I have loved the line of hair care products that this company puts out.. Each and every one of them is outstanding. The shampoo is excellent. It leaves your hair exceptionally soft, silky and smooth. You will be amazed at how just after using it one time you will see and feel the difference it makes. Effectiveness My hair is in excellent condition! It is shiny and so soft, it is just so silky smooth and manageable. I just can't say enough good things about this product. It really works I have never had not one complaint about any of the results or aftereffects from it. Scent And the smell is fantastic! It smells like fresh fruit and a dash of vanilla, it is just so sweet and fruity to smell. Your hair keeps that smell until the next time you wash and condition it. I think it is the BEST line of hair care products that are available today!

Bed Head.. put on a hat.

I am usually a huge fan of Tigi products. My mother also swears by this shampoo. Me, however, not so much. Let me start by saying the smell of this stuff is pure fruit-y yummyness. I absolutely love the smell. The product itself, though, doesn't live up to all the hype around this product and this brand. It's apparently sulfate free, but it lathers up like it isn't. I used this with the matching shampoo and was just extremely unimpressed afterward. My hair is waist length, and it was just limp, heavy, and lifeless when it dried... and even before it dried it felt heavier than it normally does. I am not sure if maybe the product I had was old... or if they have changed the formula for all these people to like it, but back when I used it [admittedly about 2 years ago] this was my experience. My hair stayed heavy and lifeless until I washed it again, and even then it felt like there was still a residue left on my hair. Might be good for some hair types, just not mine.

One of my favorite shampoos, great for dry or color treated hair

5

I have been using this shampoo on and off for years. I have fine, thin hair that is color treated. Because of the processing and daily use of hair dryers my hair tends to get dry. I need a good shampoo and conditioner that adds the moisture back without weighing my hair down and making it limp. This shampoo accomplishes that for me. I follow it up with the matching conditioner. I also feel it helps to retain the color in my hair in between treatments. Effectiveness This shampoo keeps my hair from drying out and will being it back to life if it gets too dry, particularly after being color treated. I try not to wash my hair daily as I do not think that is really good for hair but I use it probably 5 times a week. It adds moisture back in without being too heavy. Styling afterward has never been a problem. With that said, I do occasionally switch shampoos as I feel change is good for the hair. sometimes I will use a build up remover in between washings. I do not think this shampoo gets rid of build up and perhaps helps to add a little to it. Occasionally I temporarily switch to another shampoo, especially in the summer when the air is not as dry and I do not need the extra moisture. It is a great winter shampoo if you live and work in dry heated buildings. Scent I like the scent. It is very pleasant.

Fruity Scent, Fabulous for Dry Hair.

Although this shampoo is a bit on the pricey side, it is well worth every penny. A former hairdresser used it on my tresses many moons ago when I used to get my hair relaxed. As a natural, when I want to splurge, I purchase this shampoo. Moisture retention is phenomenal. It brings a softness to the hair that leaves it wispy, weightless, and easily managed. Effectiveness Partnered with the conditioner of the same name, this shampoo is quite effective in repairing damage and replenishing the hair with vitamins. After the first week the stylist used it on my hair, I noticed my tresses weren't as dry, and there were few--if any split ends in my hair. My hair had a shine to it that seemed to enhance my hair color a little bit. To make a long story short, it was a drastic improvement overall. Scent It has a scent kind of like a mandarin orange, or a dreamsicle with real orange juice. It is very sweet and isn't overpowering or synthetic.

Left my dry hair even drier and feeling like straw

2

I had such high hopes for the Bed Head Self Absorbed Shampoo. I really wanted to like this shampoo as I fell in love with the packaging. Bed Head shampoo bottles are so cute, fun and attractive. This is what really stood out and made me want to try it. Unfortunately, I ended up being extremely disappointed with the results. My hair is long, thick and dry. I color my hair on a monthly basis. Accordingly, using a color protecting shampoo is a must for me. I had a real hard time getting a good lather with this shampoo. In fact, it was so difficult that I needed to use a big handful of shampoo to create enough of a lather to wash my hair. The shampoo rinsed out easy enough but the end results after two weeks of usage were not pretty. It failed to moisturize my hair and my hair just never felt clean. Worse yet, my hair felt even drier than usual and it actually felt like straw. Trying to brush my hair was near torture. My hair was unruly, tangled and dry. I was so disappointed. The one minor high point of this shampoo was the scent which I thoroughly enjoyed and at least left my hair smelling great even if it didn't leave it looking great. Sadly, Bed Head Self Absorbed Shampoo did not live up to my expectations.

this was the very first bottle of pro shampoo that i have ever used,( i have always used drugstore) well...i was disappointed. it didn't help at all. in fact, when i rinsed it out, my hair felt horrible! if it wasn't for my dove conditioner, hair hair would've stayed extremely tangled (i know sometimes shampoo can tangle your hair,  but this was horrible)  but even with the dove conditioner (which usually works wonders) my hair didn't feel good at all. i still had some shampoo in my herbal essences hydralicous bottle, used the rest of that, and now i am looking for new shampoo.
