Because of Winn-Dixie is a heartwarming and entertaining family film about what happens when a little girl asks God for friends. Opal and her dog, Winn Dixie, go around the small Florida town in which they live, brightening the lives of everyone they meet, from a blind old lady, who is rumored to be a witch (but in reality is just lonely), to an old librarian, to a pet store owner who was in jail for 2 years, but is reformed.

I have read the book Winn Dixie to my 2nd graders for many years now. The year Winn Dixie came out we had to go see it in the movies. There are several parts that are different then the book but it still has the same meaning and keeps the same mood as the book. This seems like an original film.      "Because of Winn-Dixie" is a heart warming story of a girl and her dog.  The young actress; AnnaSophia Robb and smiling dog both give winning performances.

The story draws you in and yes, you will laugh, cry and cheer them on.  The two stars are both loners that find strengh and love in each other's company.

Cicely Tyson is aptly cast as a friend that the girl finds along the way.  Along with an unexpected turn from musician; Dave Mathews, veteran actress Eve Marie Saint as another supporter and Jeff Daniels as the father, fit well.

This is a great movie for kids and kids at heart! The story is about a girl named Opal who moves to a new town with her dad. She finds a dog near a supermarket and decides to take her home and name her Winn-Dixie after the supermarket. Opal and Winn-Dixie meet a variety of people around the small town and become friends with them.

The actors are all really good, especially AnnaSophia Robb, who plays Opal. The story is cute, and the movie has a great message - that people of all ages and backgrounds can be friends, and that people who seem weird or scary might actually be nice if you get to know...

I bought  because of winn-dixie because i kept  seeing the previews on tv, so i dec iced to get the movie for my boys,,Plus I was looking for a good family movie that they could sit down and watch without me worring what they where watching.Its a very good family movie and it also show that people could come together no matter what.I have added this movie to my collection and when my little one wants to watch it I don't have to worry that he his going to pick up bad words or anything else,And best of all because od winn-dixie is a movie that can bring the whole family together to watch on family...

I bought this movie "Because of Winn Dixie" for my two little boys.  They both love dogs and this one was right up there alley.  Like the girl in the movie, my boys are always finding strays and bringing them home.  We live in a rural area and people unfortunatly think its ok to drop there pets.  This movie tugs at your heart strings.  She takes this dog in and regardless of all the mischief this dog gets into she still loves him.  I like the name she gave him and how she got the name from the grocery store.  My boys watched this movie at least two times the 1st day we had it.  This is...

I love the movie "Because of Winn-Dixi" !!!  This is such a heart warming movie.  My sons, ages 6 and 3, both love this movie as well.  We have watched it too many times to count.  I always walk away felling happy and touched after watching it.  I hope that my sons will learn about the power of giving people a chance and helping others, through this movie.  Definitly a movie I would reccomend to anyone, even if they do not have children or Grandchildren to watch it with.  I would describ eit as a "feel good" movie.

Because of Winn Dixie is one of the very best father daughter movies ever made. Didnt expect the movie to give the book justice but it did. Its a sweet movie for kids of all ages. It has something for parents and kids. Because of Winn Dixie is for animal lovers, parents, and kids who all want a heart warming story of love. The only part I would warn parents about is there is a sad part that might get to your kids. I won't say want it is but if your kid is under the age of 8 or so you might want to read the book, so you'll know what happens.

I loved watching this movie. A real awesome movie with a great storyline. This movie is about a single dad who is a preacher who is trying to raise his only daughter by himself. The preacher is very sad that his wife left him and his daughter and you can see that his heart and his daugthers are broken. But in this new town they moved in they added a run away dog to there home and alot of laughs and joy returned to both of them. A very heartfelt enjoyable movie. One worth watching a few times a year on a rainy day......

I was looking for a decent moovie to watch with my young daughter.  This movie really fit the bill.  It has lots of animal scenes, yet is not overdone.  It has both funny parts and parts that are a little more serious.  I would recommend this movie to parents who are looking for cute kids movies that have a nice plot.  It would be especially nice for people who are into dogs.

because of winn-dixie was a very heart warming movie. it had a little bit of everything in it some parts sad, happy, funny, moving, and even a bit scary when he was lost and they couldn't find him. it was just a great movie for the whole family to see.
