Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor Review Summary

“As a first time mother hearing about SIDS was very frightening.” Many Viewpoints reviewers calmed that fear by purchasing the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor. With the Angel Care Movement Sensor, parents can monitor “movement, sound or both." Working with a small pad that slides under baby’s mattress, the Bebe Sounds Angel Care baby monitor senses baby’s breathing movements alerting parents to any problems. Several reviewers comment that the “sensitivity levels are too sensitive," which can cause the monitor to “give some false alarms.” Some of the causes of the false alarms include ceiling fans in the room and baby rolling off the sensor pad. Despite this concern, overwhelmingly parents agreed that “the peace of mind that is given by [Angel Care] by far outweighs the cost.”

Summary
I have owned several baby monitors and the Angel Care is by far my favorite. The Angel Care is durable (my kids have dropped it many times), it gets great reception (even in an old house), and it provides the flexibility of movement and sound, just sound or just movement.

I purchased the Angelcare Bebe Sounds monitor the day after my son came home from the hospital when I realized how much I needed the peace of mind a baby monitor brings.  We chose the model that has the movement sensor because of our fears of SIDS, however, to install it you need a board under the mattress,...

My sister had this kind of monitor for her firstborn and when I heard about these, I knew I needed one, too!  I do not tend to worry an extreme amount, but the risk of SIDS does bother me. Therefore, to protect my peace of mind and keep me from jumping from bed in the middle of the night to check on my Baby Girl's breathing, I invested in one of these and am so glad I did.  It gave me the security I needed.

I will admit we had to quit using the motion sensor after about three months.  Around that time my daughter began to be quite a little squirmer and would often wriggle herself into the corners...

This product is a must have for all parents!  I feel that some may look at the price tag and get a little "sticker shock" when shopping for shower gifts or even choosing something to spend your gift cards on.  Believe me, the peace of mind that is given by this product far outweighs the cost!

My husband and I made the decision not to put the baby in the bed with us.  For the first six weeks or so he slept beside us in the bassinet.  When we put him in his crib, the first night was torture but knowing that I had the movement sensor, it actually eased my mind.  I could hear his every whimper...

I had given birth to twin girls in Feb 2005, not even a year later one of my girls had a febrile seizure. This sent my world into a frenzy. I had not known anything about febrile seizures and at the time could not find much information on them.

My husband went out the same night and purchased the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor for me. It was an attempt to help me sleep as I thought I never would again. While it did not calm my fears instantly it certainly helped.

I only have two complaints - one is that my daughter would climb into the corner of the crib and the sensor could...

My stepfather had a 3-month old baby that died from SIDS. When I found out I was pregnant 2 1/2 years ago I began to panic about the thought of SIDS and how it could happen to my child. When my daughter was 2-months old I felt it was time to her to move from her bassinet to her crib. She did great sleeping; it was me who couldn't sleep. I would go in her room constantly to check on her. When I told my mother how worried I was about SIDS and how I couldn't get any sleep she found me this Angelcare Monitor.

This monitor is the greatest baby product ever invented in my opinion. I could finally get...

I loved the fact that I could open the door and look for the flashing green light to indicate breathing rather than standing over my baby with a mirror like some paranoid new parents.  My Daughter did set it off a few times.  Each time, she was breathing when I got there.  Probably a false alarm, but I felt very secure that if it wasn't, I would be there.

The major drawback is that there is only one pad and it is small.  Once the baby can roll over, it is likely that they will roll off the pad and set it off.  Since I had relied on it for both sound and motion monitoring, I had to buy a...

I am married for 28 years in 15 days & NO KIDS.  I found this baby monitor with microphone so you hear baby.  So I bought it for $5 at a garage sale.

We have ROBBERS AS NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS.  So we installed a new motion detector on the garage that catches a car pulling in the driveway or a robber stepping into the drive or looking over their fence.  So next to it we installed the main area (baby's room) and set on HIGH.  The listening end is on the table betweem sofa & recliner.  we hear fights next door, we hear drunks that they are out at 2AM so police hear them on the phone when I call...

This monitor was worth every penny.  We bought it when my daughter was a newborn and I was paranoid about something happening to her at night.

We were concerned that it would set off false alarms and wake us all up, but that literally never happened once in the first 6 months.  It seems to be very sensitive to even the subtle movement of a newborn breathing.  It was very easy to set up right out of the box (Iand I am not mechanically inclined by any means.)  You can set it to a setting in which you hear a little click every time the baby breathes just ot reassure yourself that it's working...

I bought the Angel Care Bebe Sounds monitor when my son was 2 months old. He had terrible reflux and was miserable. We had to use a wedge to prop him up in his crib in an effort to make him more comfortable. Eventually we made the decision, after consulting his doctor, to let him sleep on his stomach in an effort to reduce his reflux symptoms.  I was worried about the increased risk of SIDS so the idea of an alarm going off in seconds if he were to stop breathing was a comforting one. I am still using the monitor now and my son is nearly one year of age.

The installation was very simple. The...

Most parents need to purchase a baby monitor and my husband and I have purchased one for each child.  We first used the AngelCare Monitor with our first son 9 years ago and loved it so much we bought one 7 years later for our youngest.  The first was probably still working but we gave it away years ago.  I could not sleep the first couple of weeks my son was home because I was so worried about SIDS.  We bought this monitor and I finally fell alseep.  It works by sensing movement using a sensor pad under the mattress.  We tested in with heavy objects to make sure it wasn't just testing weight. ...

I had the Fisher Price Sound & Lights monitor with my first child, and I was a nervous wreck.  I loved the monitor itself, but I was so frightened by the thought of SIDS that sound alone was not enough.  I decided that with my second child, I would pay the money for the Angelcare monitor.  I considered it an investment in my peace of mind.  I bought the monitor for baby # 2, and found incredible peace in knowing that the alarm would go off if he stopped breathing.  The monitor did go off once, and although I feel that it was probably a fluke, that incident gave me renewed faith in my decision... review »

I was SO NERVOUS when I had my first child...so much that I KNEW I wouldn't be sleeping for months because I'd be the crazy mom hovering over her child with a mirror to make sure she was breathing.   I had some friends recommend this monitor and seriously...it's the ONLY reason I got any sleep.  I was so comfortable knowing that if anything happened her monitor would sound, alerting us to come and come quick.  I also used this monitor (same one) for my second child and have never had any technical or mechanical issues at all.

This monitor is actually my staple gift to give when a new friend...

I bought this monitor with my second child.  I was always so weary whenever I tucked my first into bed because I was so nervous something might happen.  So for my second child I decided to spend a little more money and but the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor.  It had great reviews and the price wasn't too bad.  The monitor has a flat pad that you put under the mattress that detects movement.  If there is no movement for more than 20 seconds an alarm sounds.  I rarely had problems with this going off even when my baby was ok.  Luckily, when the alarm did sound everything...

Now, this is what i'm talking about! This is the monitor i wanted as a gift, but instead got another, which i reviewed also, and was not good at all. Anyways, this monitor allows me to sleep peacefully, because there is NO constant white noise and i can hear baby VERY CLEARLY, even as he just starts making little sounds, even before being fully awake. And the movement option on it, reassures me, that if, God forbid, he should get stuck with his face in the matress or something, the alarm will go off and i'll have time to go save him. I know it does not prevent SIDS, but in my mind, it does help.... review »
