Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor — 

I love the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Sensor Baby Monitor - I recommend it to every new mother!  As a new mother I had so many fears.  This monitor sounds an alarm if it doesn't detect movement for 20 seconds.  It is extremely sensitive, so even if your baby is laying perfectly still, it still detects his/her breathing.  The only con is that occasionally the monitor will sound when the baby is just fine - when that happened to me it was always because my baby had worked himself into one of the corners of his crib.  If your crib does not have a flat surface under the mattress, it is no problem - just have a piece of plywood or masonite cut at your local home improvement store (this will be extremely inexpensive) - the dimensions you will need are given in the monitor's instructions.  I do agree that this monitor is a bit pricey, BUT the peace of mind it gives is priceless.  I think it is well worth the money.
