This product is a must have for all parents! I feel that some may look at the price tag and get a little "sticker shock" when shopping for shower gifts or even choosing something to spend your gift cards on. Believe me, the peace of mind that is given by this product far outweighs the cost!
My husband and I made the decision not to put the baby in the bed with us. For the first six weeks or so he slept beside us in the bassinet. When we put him in his crib, the first night was torture but knowing that I had the movement sensor, it actually eased my mind. I could hear his every whimper or coo and was able to rest assured that he was okay.
I found that the monitor does give some false alarms but I would rather have a few false alarms than nothing at all. The benefits far outweigh a couple of moments of going to check on the baby at night and resetting the alarm. The instructions indicate that one should not use a fan as it could "trip" the monitor or cause it to not go off if in fact the child stops breathing. I used a fan the entire time and even tested the monitor with an empty bed and did not get any false movements. However, I must urge users to take the advice of the user's manual and not rely on my exerience.
This unit is simple to use but is packed with options and features. The sensitivity is adjustable, the volume is easily adjustable, and the unit is light weight and when used by battery method alone is very efficient with a handy battery power indicator light.
This is a wonderful product that everyone should have! I am also looking forward to using this monitor once my son is big enough to get out of bed on his own because it will alert me that he is no longer in his crib (unless he's hitting it...)
