Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor Review Summary
“As a first time mother hearing about SIDS was very frightening.” Many Viewpoints reviewers calmed that fear by purchasing the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor. With the Angel Care Monitor parents can monitor “movement, sound or both. Working with a small pad that slides under baby’s mattress, the Angel Care monitor senses baby’s breathing movements alerting parents to any problems. Several reviewers comment that the “sensitivity levels are too sensitive which can cause the monitor to “give some false alarms.” Some of the causes of the false alarms include ceiling fans in the room and baby rolling off the sensor pad. Despite this concern, overwhelmingly parents agreed that “the peace of mind that is given by [Angel Care] by far outweighs the cost.”

This product is a must have for all parents! I feel that some may look at the price tag and get a little "sticker shock" when shopping for shower gifts or even choosing something to spend your gift cards on. Believe me, the peace of mind that is given by this product far outweighs the cost! — My husband and I made the decision not to put the baby in the bed with us. For the first six weeks or so he slept beside us in the bassinet. When we put him in his crib, the first night was torture but knowing that I had the movement sensor, it actually eased my…

I am married for 28 years in 15 days & NO KIDS. I found this baby monitor with microphone so you hear baby. So I bought it for $5 at a garage sale. — We have ROBBERS AS NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS. So we installed a new motion detector on the garage that catches a car pulling in the driveway or a robber stepping into the drive or looking over their fence. So next to it we installed the main area (baby's room) and set on HIGH. The listening end is on the table betweem sofa & recliner. we hear fights next door, we hear drunks that they are out at 2AM so police…

very happy with this product
My stepfather had a 3-month old baby that died from SIDS. When I found out I was pregnant 2 1/2 years ago I began to panic about the thought of SIDS and how it could happen to my child. When my daughter was 2-months old I felt it was time to her to move from her bassinet to her crib. She did great sleeping; it was me who couldn't sleep. I would go in her room constantly to check on her. When I told my mother how worried I was about SIDS and how I couldn't get any sleep she found me this Angelcare Monitor. — This monitor is the greatest baby product ever invented in my opinion. I…

a first-time parent, willing to pay more for quality, a protective mom, newborn necessity, married, safety conscious
I loved the fact that I could open the door and look for the flashing green light to indicate breathing rather than standing over my baby with a mirror like some paranoid new parents. My Daughter did set it off a few times. Each time, she was breathing when I got there. Probably a false alarm, but I felt very secure that if it wasn't, I would be there. — The major drawback is that there is only one pad and it is small. Once the baby can roll over, it is likely that they will roll off the pad and set it off. Since I had relied on it for both…

A Concerned Parent
I had the Fisher Price Sound & Lights monitor with my first child, and I was a nervous wreck. I loved the monitor itself, but I was so frightened by the thought of SIDS that sound alone was not enough. I decided that with my second child, I would pay the money for the Angelcare monitor. I considered it an investment in my peace of mind. I bought the monitor for baby # 2, and found incredible peace in knowing that the alarm would go off if he stopped breathing. The monitor did go off once, and although I feel that it was probably a fluke, that incident gave me…

cost-conscious, a first-time parent, Light sleeper
I purchased this monitor second hand off of ebay. Being a first time mom, I was worried about SIDS. My daughter slept next to my bed for the first 3 months in her bassinet. I did not need a monitor for that. Once moved into her room across the house, I installed this monitor. We needed to add a piece of thin plywood under her mattress to place the movement monitor on, which was not a big deal. I used the movement option only for about a month. We would forget to turn it off once we picked up my daughter and then she started rolling around her crib…

Now, this is what i'm talking about! This is the monitor i wanted as a gift, but instead got another, which i reviewed also, and was not good at all. Anyways, this monitor allows me to sleep peacefully, because there is NO constant white noise and i can hear baby VERY CLEARLY, even as he just starts making little sounds, even before being fully awake. And the movement option on it, reassures me, that if, God forbid, he should get stuck with his face in the matress or something, the alarm will go off and i'll have time to go save him. I know it does not prevent SIDS, but in my mind, it does…

This product is wonderful. We have never used any other monitor for our son. We used it first in his bassinet and then moved it to his crib. I always joke that I "will use it until he is 12!" I agree with other reviewers that the pad is too small for the average size crib. My son often curls up in a corner and the alarm will sound. BUT, that inconvienence is small compared to the wreck I would be without it. I also wanted to note that the motion sensor can be turned off completely and the monitor used for sound only (I used this feature several times…

When picking out a moniter while pregnant, I read a ton of reviews on this one. I wasnt sure if I really needed something like this, if it was just something to make scared moms spend more. I decided to just get it. Thank God I did! My daughter was born very sick, and spent 4 weeks in the NICU. She was on a moniter that would go off if she stopped breathing up until the day we took her home. The relief I felt when I put her in her bassinet with this moniter was great! I know its not the one at the hospital, but it was still great to have just to have that peace of mind! It was a little…

As a first time mother hearing about SIDS was very frightning. I felt so helpless, I spent a lot of nights awake just checking to see if my baby was breathing and things only got worse. SIDS became a reality because someone close to me lost there son at only 3 months to SIDS. I went to work distraught the next day. I told my story to a friend and she informed about the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor. She gave me all the details and it sounds like the perfect solution. Here I am 2 years later and I still turn the monitor on…

cost-conscious, Light sleeper, newborn necessity, a first-time parent, Safety conscious, Mother of 1, looking for value
When we first moved our son into his crib I have horrible anxiety always thinking that he would stop breathing and I wouldn't know it (paranoid first time mom lol.) It got so bad that I just didn't sleep anymore. I finally decided that I needed to do something. I actually bought the angel care monitor on ebay for $25 and it was the best purchase I could have made. Not only did it give me a sense of security, but I finally got to sleep with out worrying something would happen. The sensitivity levels are a little too sensitive...so sensitive that it could pick up the wind from me walking past…

A friend told me about this product just before I was going to move my baby from the bassinet to the crib. I wasn't sure how I was going to sleep without being able to look over and see my baby breathing in his bassinet next to me. I had a coworker who lost a child to SIDS so I am constantly worried. This product has kept me sane. I feel so much more comfortable putting him in his crib at night and for naps. We do get a false alarm every once in awhile if he wiggles his way up to the top of his crib.... but I am just glad that I know that it works! I would tell everyone to purchase…

Light sleeper, willing to pay more for quality, Mother of 1, married
As a new mom, I read all the books on what to expect with a newborn. I was so deathly afraid of SIDS, especially after knowing someone who had a baby almost die from SIDS. For the first week of my son's life, I slept on the floor next to his crib and every hour check to make sure he was breathing. Finally, my husband was tired of watching me sleep on the floor and bought me this monitor. — My son was a very heavy sleeper from the beginning, and it would look like he had stopped breathing. We had many alarms go off, but it was worth the piece of mind. At age 4 months, we stopped…
