I am typically an i.d. bareMinerals girl all the way, but I'm not opposed to a deal or a bargain if it actually has value - I can't tell you how many things I've just rolled my eyes at as I smeared them at my face. (Yeah, I said, AT. On would require that they stick, or show up.)
What have you found from the drugstore that has worked well for you? I.E. Eyeshadows that have good pigment, lipsticks that are creamy and wearable and don't have that "plasticy smell", blushers and bronzers that blend well and look natural and yet visible, shimmers with sparkle and shine that don't flake all over the place, mascaras that give you plush and full lashes.
I don't think it's a good deal if it doesn't work. I'd rather have one $13 eyeshadow from bareMinerals than four shadows from Target that are invisible.
I actually am not very well off so it may come as a shock that I'm a minerals girl, but again, value for the money - these products last forever!!! and WORK. So in the long run, they've saved me cash. And I love them.
My drugstore finds:
EYEMAKEUP
* CoverGirl Volume Exact Mascara in Black - Love love love this. I actually don't use expensive mascara as I have found little to no difference and I like to save money where it counts. This one works really well, I love the brush, and the staying power is good.
I have not found shadow from the drugstore that has made me happy in a long while. If you know of ones that work, please, please, fill me in. I'd love to know.
LIP PRODUCTS
* Incredifull Lipcolor by Covergirl in "Port Pout" (#944) - love the way it feels, the color is true, and it's very nice the way it tingles. Doesn't burn like some of those plumping glosses do
* Liphuggers by JANE Cosmetics in "Browned Down Red" - believe it or not a classic neutral with a bit of a kick that feels wearable and creamy without too much shine. Nearly matte, but not dry looking at all. I like this for a neutral drugstore lipstick for sure. I think they're like around $3,50 by my last check? Come on!
* Wet Shine Diamonds Liquid by Maybelline New York in various colors:
Pink Diamonds (soft shellpink-ish color - great for that pouty "Maxim-cover" look with a smokey eye)
Mauvey Rock (great every day mauve - I haven't seen this colour look bad on ANYONE)
Plum Solitaire (kinda bright - I call it Barbie Pink but it's fun!)
Rhinestone Pink (also nice and light and soft)
It has a decent texture although a tiny bit grainy because of the cheaper shimmer, but it's so pretty and affordable. I have honestly found it at the Dollar Store and Big Lots and snapped up a ton of tubes because it's normally $6.00-$7.00 each at the drugstore, and I've found it for $1.00-$2.00 each. Keep your eye out.
Well, those are my finds, how about yours??
