As you all may know, I love to play with makeup. I have high end stuff, cheap stuff, stuff that I will never use but had to have anyway. My must haves though are Dermablend concealer for my raccoon eye circles and Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara. And of course, lip gloss, preferably Clinique's Almost Lipstick in Black Honey or Goldie's Lip Gloss in Brownie. If I had those three things, I could get by. I would use the gloss on my lips and cheeks and play up my eyes and would be all set. Instead, I have 58907726 different products.

Do you have any MUST HAVE beauty products to share with us? I want to know what you just refuse to go without or what is your very favorite cosmetic. Then I'll go and buy them all. lol lol.

Of course I do!  I'm a cosmetics junkie as well but the more stuff I try the more I keep going back to my old favorites.  For example, I've given up on all drugstore eyeshadow and use only Bare Escentuals eyeshadows now as well as Bare Minerals foundation which gives me very good coverage and evening out of my skin tone, but more importantly doesn't mess with my excessively sensitive skin.  I also use Bare Minerals Bisque which is a great concealer and is much more natural looking than any other product I've tried.  My favorite eyeliner is still Avon's Glimmerstick.

I recently tried Lash Maxx mascara from Rimmel and absolutely love it so I'm planning to stick to that one.  I have yet to try Lash Blast though so maybe I'll give that one a try.  I'm such a junkie!

I tried Lash Maxxx and don't like it. That is the one with the pink comb? I didn't get any volume at all and that comb is a dangerous weapon! I am going to give it away because I am having an affair with Lash Blast right now. I have to add that I also really like Kiss Me Mascara for times when I don't want my mascara to run, budge, fade, smudge, or flake. It's totally tubular! Ha!

Ok so take my money, take my car, but leave the mascara, lip gloss and weenie dog or it's war. Oh yeah, and then there's the hair products...that's another story. I have a suitcase on wheels for them. They all stay!

Without question it is blush. I've been using Clarins for almost two years but am switching. If I only could take ONE beauty item it would be that. I think it changed my looks 100%.

I need blush too. I am so pale. But I think I can get by if I use mascara, concealer and lip gloss. Those are must haves. As for hair products, like BuckysMommy, I have quite a few and don't think I would want to get rid of many of the things I have. My hair is stubborn and has to be coaxed to do anything and even then, it may or may agree.

All of us girls have our favorite products!  Me, I have to have it all.  Of course I have to have the basics: foundation, mascara, blush, concealer, and eyeshadow.  I have a couple new products I ran across that are definite keepers that I have added to my collection:  Arbonne FYI geteven SPF 15 - a tinted moisturizer that I love especially in the summer because it is lightweight but gives me a more finished look by evening out my skin tone.  Arbonne REtaliate Wrinkle filler - this works wonders on fine lines.   L'Oreal Glam Bronze and Wear Infinite - great bronzer and eyeshadow quad at a great price. Lancome Blush Subtil and Color Design - the blush and eye shadow come in great colors that last.  As you can tell, I like to try variety of lines to find what works for me.

Dior Plstic Lipgloss - The best $26 I ever spent on a 0.2 oz of make up! It's two years old now and still my favorite.

Long wearing lipstick, no self respecting southern woman leaves the house ... uhhh car without it on!  Loreal and Cover Girl are the two that are always in my purse, so I can have that one color I really want.  Fraid that for the most part, just about everything else is au natural. (ok except for mascara, but that's just between us!)

This is a fun question. Yay!

My three must -haves.
1. Rimmel Soft Kohl Liner in Black
2. Amazing Cosmetics Concealer (Medium)
3. Red Earth Cot de'Azure Bronzer

After thinking about this, I realized how much money I could have saved myself if I weren't so addicted to shopping for cosmetics. Eh! I guess bliss comes in various forms, to say the least.

:) Thanks everyone for the fun questions and replies.

Oh My Gosh! I almost forgot about Glimmer stick. I loved that one too, but once I had no Avon connections I had to go back to the aisles for a new one and found Rimmel's. I should go buy me a stick and go back. That WAS really really great liner.

I'd be rich if I didn't buy EVERY cosmetic that comes out! It's so addicting. I'm looking for a good bronzer that doesn't streak, isn't orange, and isn't shimmery. How about Red Earth Cot de'Azure Bronzer? Is that really shimmery? I see another purchase in my future!

The only two things (no specific brand) I feel I must have with me at all times is a pressed powder compact and chapstick.  Most the time I also have my mentha lip tints b/c I love the mint taste and it makes my lips tingle :)

I don't usually do a lot of makeup, even when I'm getting dressed up the most I do is some eye shadow, mascara, blush and lipstick.  However on any normal day I must have my pressed powder.  It doesn't do much, maybe not anything at all, but it makes me feel better!  The chapstick or mentha is more for comfort than looks, I'm addicted :-D

BTW - I saw no specific brand b/c I change powder choices often based on what's on sale :)  The last few times I've bought the same thing, but after awhile I tend to get tired of one and want to try another.

I have tried everything!!! You need to buy these: Chanel waterproof eyeliner-- if you like BLACK and you're not messing around, this waterproof eyeliner is amazing. It doesn't smudge and you can mark it all over your waterline without it budging. I'm not sure what the real name is for this eyeliner but there is only one that Chanel carries that is waterproof. Nars eyeshadows - because they are milled so finely, I always get the color I saw in the store and loved. Also, they are brilliant and stay put. Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer - has SPF, covers really well without looking like I put on a ton of makeup, and it doens't make me break out like all the other stuff I've tried. La Mer Lip Balm - tastes awesome and cures my chapped lips... It's on the expensive side but this stuff sure does the job! I hate lip gloss look on dry lips!

I just noticed no guys have posted to this thread.... :)

My motto is that even an old barn looks better painted... so I don't leave home without the paint.

Currently, Bare Escentuals is my favorite foundation, blush and powder.  I also love their eyeshadow and bisque concealer.  I like the Prime Time foundation primer too.  I haven't found a favorite mascara.  The LashBlast seems to get gummy with age and then doesn't comb right.  I had a favorite lipstick by Estee Lauder but they quite making it.  Right now I am using Buxom lips. It doesn't plump my lips but it does the trick until I find something better.  I use an AVON clear mascara for my eyebrows.

I am not sure I could live with only three items.  I suppose I could survive with foundation, mascara and lip-color if I had to. The lip-color could double as blush and I could always find a plant to extract blue or green coloring for my eyes.  :p

Meri, if you want quality mascara, Lancome is the best bet. Their mascaras are consistently VERY good. I like Flextencils best but they have a load of different formulas. They are a bit pricey but you can't go wrong. The reason I mess around with others is that I like lots of volume and haven't found a Lancome mascara that gives me tons of volume. Length, no clumps, no smearing, and great looking lashes, yes. I may see if they have one that adds volume and try it.

Lip plumpers never work! I like City Lips a lot though. It doesn't hurt and it is pigmented, lasts a long time, and does seem  to plump some. I also like DuWop's Venom gloss. The colors are nice, it's thick so it stays put,. and after the sting, I get plumping. But this one does sting! Yikes.

Lisa, I like Laura Mercier's everything! She has a great line. I will look into the Chanel eyeliner. I use Smashbox Jet Set waterproof in the little tub and it lasts a long time but I am looking for new stuff!!

Well, it can't hurt to try it.  Something in the dark, deep corners of my mind says I may have tried it but it has been years ago now.  Things change.  The problem is that I have puny, short lashes that need both length and volume.  I hate clumps.  So, the quest continues... some mascaras are great at first but then the brushes get all messed for one reason or another...  This is the most frustrating beauty treatment for sure.

This is fun.  I have a pretty limited makeup collection because I don't use it daily.  Still, if I'm going to wear foundation it has to be id Bare Minerals and I'm loving the Cover Girl Lash Exact Mascara (I had to go double check the name - that's how seldom I use it).  I can live without either of those, but I can't leave the house without my Avon Glazewear lips.  The reason I'm sold on both Bare Minerals and Avon Glazewear is they have the absolute perfect colors for my complexion, they're inexpensive, and I don't end up looking overly made up.

As you can see, I'm pretty low maintenance, but my daughter would lose her mind if you took away her Bare Minerals foundation, MicaBella Shimmer and MAC eyeshadows and lip glosses!  Every year for Christmas I get her the MAC Holiday eyeshadow and lip gloss sets and every year she squeals with delight.  :)

I have to admit, they ARE a thing of beauty. I love all of my Harley boots. And I have a fair number of styles. Then again, I have a fair number of everything. I have too much of too many things!

I cant live without my stila eyeliner (with shadow in the same stick), NARS blush, and some form of mascara to make me look like a normal person. Although I have no specific allegiance for mascara. I have used Cover Girl for years and am just testing out a new one....

Let me see, I could not live without my Sheer Cover Mineral Makeup

*  Frost Mineral Foundation
*  Light Finishing Powder
*  Berry Lipgloss Collection
*  Natural Eyeshadow Collection
*  Black Mascara

and my 3 makeup brushes (for Powder, Eyeshadow, and Lip)

I think that is it.

Oh, I would also need my Dove Cleansing Cloths.

I am a professional makeup artist and I deal with 100's of products brands, mediums and skin types daily. My must have beauty products are from Faerie Organics Minerals. I have used bare escentuals in the past, before I researched them which I recommend everyone does, because they are very misleading. This is my list why go Faerie organic and why I think people should stay away from bare escentuals....

 I DO NOT RECOMMEND BARE ESCENTUALS AND THIS IS WHY.................
1) They are very misleading. They say they are pure minerals- THEY ARE NOT. They use a cheap filler called BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE which is not an actual mineral but A METAL that has been processed with copper and tin. This ingredient is a skin IRRITANT and well known to cause ITCHING, RASH, and in some cases CYSTIC ACNE! This ingredient is not good for your skin and many others are allergic to it too
2)They say they are natural with no preservatives- NOT TRUE! They use chemical parabean preservatives in their mineral veil and other skin care formulas
3)They use cheap fillers (cornstarch-more irritation) and of course bismuth oxychloride
4)They are overhyped and charge A LOT for nothing (their makeup ingredients are cheap)
5)They are way to shiny, leave you greasy looking and wear off by the afternoon

Why Faerie Organic Minerals..............
1)They are natural with NO PRESERVATIVES, NO CHEAP FILLERS, NO METALS, NO BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE,
2)They use a EXPENSIVE high end ingredient called BORON NITRIDE which is known to HELP ACNE due to its antibacterial properties, it is also known to be a skin soother and protector, this ingredent is what sets mineral companies apart as this ingredient is amazing on the skin.
3)Their makeup is light, airy, has great coverage, covers redness amazing, photographs well you don't feel it on, it lasts all day. Never greasy, cakey, powdery, orangey, itchy etc
4) Even with the expensive high end ingredients it is still more affordable than bare escentuals
5)They have great natural skincare (especially for acne) that has done wonders on even some pretty horrible cases of acne, combined with their makeup you can see a major difference
6)They have FREE sample kits!

You can see their site here.......http://www.faerieorganic.com

I am however a naturalist and do not like harmful chemicals in my products which so many companies do. Loreal has lead, mary kay has products that release formeldehyde. etc... You can check your products here....http://www.cosmeticdatabase.com
