Hello, my name is this2shallpass19 and I am addicted to buying new mascara.  I think I need a 12 step program for my problem.  I just counted and I have reviewed 17 mascaras in a one year time period!

My favorites so far are: CoverGirl LashBlast for volume, length & separation.  For super long lashes I like Maybelline Define-A-Lash.  What are yours?

hello this2shallpass19, I feel your addiction. I'm currently hauling about 21 tubes, I know I know, bad bad bad.

If I could take a little something from each and make ONE great product this is what it may look like.

The lengthening ability from Bare Escentuals Big Flirt, (dries out too fast).

The pigment depth from Maybelline Great Lash (my least favorite formula),.

The separation ability from Dior Show, just too expensive to use daily, therefore a waste.

The softness of Maybelline Full & Soft.

The staying power of Revlon 3D Extreme.

That would potentially make for one NICE tube of mascara but, like that's ever gonna happen. I will be using L'Oreal's new ball brush mascara later, I've got to give it a few days of use to see if I truly like it or not, then I'll give it a review.

I used to use Maybelline Great Lash when I first started wearing mascara :)  I agree with you that a couple great features from several mascaras would make a perfect one.  I'm still amazed I reviewed 17 in only one year!

I need to step up and start reviewing others i'm currently using too, I sometimes feel that I'm commenting on too many cosmetic items but, they're products I use so I guess I shouldn't feel that way huh ?

I had a trial run yesterday with the new L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara, very different application process but not bad, relatively easy to use. I'll review it after a couple more uses  lol.

If it is a product you use and have experience with, review it!  We could all benefit from your mascara hits and misses :)  I look forward to your new L'Oreal review!

I only use one mascara - the CoverGirl Clear one.  I tend to have watery eyes and tend to touch my eyes so I won't dare use anything colored.  My lashes are already dark, so I figure this is all I need :)

very smart choice vivasuzi, and so much easier to use, no fussing I'm sure. I like that one to use as a brow gel, it helps keep them in place without adding what they don't need, more volume lol.

vivasuzi, I have never tried the clear kind, but I do prefer dramatic, long, black lashes, so it probably isn't for me anyways :)  To each his own!

I have about 1500 mascaras. OK maybe not that many but seriously, it's ridiculous.

I like CoverGirl LashExact and Volume Exact very much. They work as well as many high end mascaras.

I like Lancome's mascaras, my favorite being Flextencils which I think was discontinued! Definicils is also very good. Never clumps, always lengthens.

I like Blinc's Kiss Me mascara for not budging EVER. It forms tubes around the lashes and, while it doesn't give a lot of volume, it lengthens and stays on for days -- really days -- without budging or needing any sort of maintenance.

CoverGirl LashBlast rocks. I love it.

Tarte's Lights! Camera! Lashes! is also really good.

I DO like L'Oreal's Telescopic Explosion Mascara but it requires work, patience, and just one coat or else I get clumped together lashes. But it sure is dramatic!

I don't use clear mascara. I want big, bold, thick, long, in your face (in MY face?) lashes and I get them with a combination of these mascaras and primer. Oh yeah, Napoleon Perdis makes a great mascara too. The peep show one. Amazing length. Maybe I should stop buying mascara for while...

Hi Patty!  I'm glad you joined this thread because you are the expert!

Although I love LashBlast and LashExact very much, I wasn't a big fan of Exact Lash.  It wasn't a bad mascara, I just loved the other two so much, I felt it didn't live up to it's sisters.

I read and rated your L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara, now I want to go out and buy one!

I have SO many mascaras. I think I am looking for one that doe sit ALL. Huge lashes, lots of volume, curl, no clumps, no flakes, lasts all day...

None do all that but some come close. I think I just like to play with makeup! :)

I am absolutely addicted to Trish McEvoy High Volume Mascara in Jet Black. It's the "tube" mascara that dries with a thicker layer of product around each lash. This makes flaking a thing of the past. You can actually pull the little tubes off your lashes after wetting them when you remove your makeup. Sorta freaky when you do it the first time. I have to review this stuff! You can get it on Amazon or a Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom and any place that carries Trish McEvoy makeup.

I have tried a million mascaras.  Both my mom and I used to love the Maybelline mascara in the white tube but they discontinued it.  So since then I've been searching for the ultimate mascara and found that I love Rimmel's Lash Maxx. The applicator is a crazy little pink comb that you wouldn't think would work at all, but it works really well for me.  I can apply 3 coats and it never clumps and the comb gives great definition.

The other one I really like is L'oreal Double Extend.  I get really thick, full lashes with just one or two coats.  And it has that "beauty tubes" technology that makes the mascara just fall right off my lashes when I get them wet in the shower.  Amazing stuff and much cheaper than the premium brands.

That kind of sounds like the L'Oreal beauty tube mascara.  I haven't tried it yet, but I read that the "tubes" also can be removed.  Sounds interesting, yes you should review it!

L'Oreal Double Extend!  That's the one I was thinking of Meredith!  Ok, now I want it!

Considering the amount of gifts I need to buy + holiday travel costs- switching from Trish McAvoy's tube mascara to L'oreal Double Extend sounds like a no brainer. Me and my checking account thank you, Bugg! I didn't realize there were multiple brands using the "beauty tubes." Yay.

Blinc's Kiss Me mascara was the first one to introduce the tubes concept. It's pricey but amazing in that it will not budge no matter what. And taking it off is scary/fun. Scary because it looks like lashes are coming off and fun to pull the tubes off. Now everyone's got a tube mascara. I have yet to try any others but may. I like the concept very much but the price is high for Kiss Me so...I will try some others.

Because I NEED more mascara and all. ;)

Well, I've been using the L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara for a few days now so I think I  can safely share my opinion on it and will do so very soon.

Does anyone remember when Maybelline had their Illegal Lengths mascara? it was one of my most favorite out of their mascara line, it did everything a mascara is supposed to do. The best thing about it was that you could build it up without getting fuzzy spider leg lashes and you'd end up with stunning long dark fringy lashes; it was so good, I just  wish they would bring it back :(

Was Illegal Lengths the mascara that was one of the first to have the "clean brush"?  When you pulled it out of the tube, there was a chamber that took all the gunk off.  If that is Illegal Lenths, I have used it and did like it, but it was a million years ago!

I remember that one! Why can't someone come up with a perfect mascara? I know it's out there. It seems if the formula is good, the brush makes lashes stick together and if the brush is awesome, the formula flakes or doesn't lengthen well. All I want is length, volume, no flaking or clumping, super dramatic, fringy lashes that stay that way all day and then the mascara comes off with my usual facial cleanser. They can send a man to the moon but can't make a great mascara? Sheesh. ;)

Mascara junkies !  I think we need to create our own formula, find a chemist and have it developed to be the best stuff on earth (now I sound like a Snapple ad lol) We'll make millions........just think of all the mascara we could buy then.....oh, wait, we wouldn't have to wooohooo !!!  Now I know I've gone totally bonkers, I think it's time for a cosmetic intervention.

Yeah, I need a cosmetic intervention too!  I just bought five new mascaras and am so excited to try them all!  Cross your fingers I find a winner for us :)

I DID see this and you know I want it badly!  On that list, I have reviewed Smashbox Lash DNA and wasn't crazy about it.  That sampler would make a great gift for mascara junkies like us.  If only my husband was reading this thread :)

I think we should leave Viewpoints up on the computer screen on this thread of course, so the hubbies can read it and realize what an awesome gift this would make. Sephora is also offering other kits too, skincare, makeup. Six in all I believe, and oh-so easy to wrap ;)

For my birthday last month, I treated myself to several Philosophy kits, but my hubby doesn't know :)  I guess I could have gotten the mascara sampler, but I was in scent selection heaven looking at all the Philosophy choices!

Philosophy kits can make anyone's blues go away! I really like the brand but I have to gulp at the fact that their body washes are a dollar an ounce. Yikes. But I use many Philosophy products and try not to think of the price and just enjoy the products.

I love Philosophy's Inner Grace, it has a calming scent and isn't at all loud, no headaches from this one. The Perfumed Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel is heavenly, mounds of lather and it leaves behind the softest hint of scent and doesn't dry my skin. I need to drop a few hints to the hubs for Christmas, it's time for a refill ;)

I have to write things down in bold letters and exactly where they can be found for my husband to get it. Otherwise I would get stuff that I liked 15 years ago and he still thinks I like. Cuz he's a guy and they never change. I change my preferences every other week!
