Being the cosmetic junkie that I am and always looking for a "better mascara",  I'm wondering if anyone has tried L'Oreal's Telescopic Explosion Mascara with the spherical brush?? I'm tired of wasting money on mascaras that offer so much and produce so little in the way of results. It looks like an innovative way to apply it but, even though it's not overly expensive,  is it worth the $9.00 commitment?

Thoughts? suggestions?  Thank you.

She did! I haven't gotten it YET but I guess I'll take one for the team and buy it. I doubt I will be wowed by it but a little ball for a brush would amuse me (if it doesn't blind me).

You are a real trooper, and please, no unnecessary blinding. I must say, the thought of a little ball as mascara applicator is rather amusing :)

I almost bought one for $8, as it is a lot cheaper than my Lancome one, I paid $36 for.

It amazes me how much mascaras cost, what gets me is that they promise so much and never quite deliver, especially when spending $20. or more $$ for a tube you'd think the quality would be better but unfortunately that's not often the case. Which Lancome Mascara do you have?  I used to use them but they made my eyes tear and itch, I think it was the scent....possibly.

Susie, was it the Oscillation mascara from Lancome? I just bought Hypnose for $24.50 and I have Virtuose and a few others. They ARE good but I think CoverGirl LashExact and VolumeExact come very, very close for under $8.00 each!

I have, in my hand, THE mascara. I will report the results after I go to the ER for poking that little ball brush into my eye. Eek. (Just kidding. I haven't even opened the package yet.)

Can't wait to get the results of your trial run. I ALMOST purchased it at CVS today but I was a good girl and will let you be the ultimate team player and follow your lead !!   Keep the phone handy and 911 on speed-dial just in case.....oh JUST kidding !!  :)

Well we all have this stuff now. I suspect I may be the only one (as well as my sister) who finds it amazing but we'll see. It takes time to get used to and using the ball thing vertically works best. One coat is all you need. More will start to make lashes stick together. I think I am going to buy the original - the Givenchy mascara with the same wand. I just have to know what is different about the two. Hey, what's $28.00 when you just gotta know something so important? ;)

Update: so far I'm still liking L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara, it really stays on well.

I like it too. I have learned how to apply it so that it doesn't clump at all and it still gives me really long lashes. I have resisted the Givenchy mascara thus far but I probably won't for much longer.

Be strong !!  but should you purchase it, please DO let me know what you think.

I applied my 'explosion" mascara at 8 this morning and it's still holding steady, no flakes. I'm amazed that it holds up so well. I never had good luck with any L'oreal mascara in the past. I think I'll put this one on my keeper list lol.

I don't like L'Oreal products as a rule so this was a first for me for mascara from them. I read some reviews elsewhere where women say the Explosion flakes. I have never seen a flake and wear it for hours. I would notice since flakes will cause my under eyes to look darker than they already are and I am always checking that area in the mirror to be sure I don't look like a zombie. I STILL haven't gotten the Givenchy stuff because I saw a commercial for a different mascara recently and started frothing at the mouth over how good it looked. SIGH.

I have to say, I've been using it almost every day and it's been really good, I haven't had flaking. Another thing I've noticed is that it's very lightweight on the lashes, I don't feel like I have shades on my eyes.

So what's this different mascara you're speaking of?? Gawd I should shoot myself for even asking that question, I'm such a bad bad girl.

I think it's Revlon Doubletwist. Has a dual brush and comes in a new shade called Blackened Ruby that looks very cool. They have the usual shades too. I saw the commercial and said "Oh, yeah, I need that one. Look at the brush! The volume! The length!" But I say that about ALL the mascaras they show on TV. I need to separate reality from fake eyelashes on a perfect model. lol.

I know it is a new Revlon one and I know it talks about tons of volume. I'm glad I'm not sure which it is or else I'd own it already.
