I wanted to have my hair slick straight without chemicals but I have no idea what products to use. I tried using a blowdryer and the edge of a curling iron even a straight iron but nothing. It only makes my hair even more frizzy. and when my hair gets wet, it gets curly again.

I use a non exspensive hair straitener at times.  I usually wash my hair the day/night before I plan to straiten my hair.
I am not sure but I assume that if I really got my hair wet or soaked it too would turn a bit curly.
Other wise mine is to not let your hair  be frizzy or anything.  it does well on getting my hair strait to the end.  depends on how you do it i suppose, but i like it.  i love how smooth it is and nice it looks.  so strait.
I had a perm along time ago.  about a year or so but it stills looks okay.

i have used a straightener from time to time, but i have lots of thick heavy hair so most of the time i wash and go -- especially since I have curly hair may as well take advantage. my trick to using a straightener is good product -- like redken no. 1 and patience as well as doing layers after layers. also my hair can't be in need of a hair cut or I end up with frizzes no matter what I do.

I used to straighten my hair about once a year with the straightener you get at the salon- the kind that will put blisters on your scalp its so strong.  I finally stopped doing that due to the damage to my hair and because I have completely different curls now.  I still have naturally curly hair- but it is forever different than it once was.  I have ruined my hair- for all you girls out there who think you want straight hair- stick with the big round brush, hairdryer, and straightening iron.  That way you get to keep your gorgeous curls, but can go straight too.  I have to wear my hair straight all the time now, due to the curl being so unruley now.

I haven't had my hair cut for quite some time (cost, too busy, plus every other excuse in the book), and my hair is at the length that just blow drying it doesn't do anything to help it get straight. My hair is very thick and somewhat wavy crazy. We're not talking about a nice, pleasant kind.  Even if I blow dry it, it still makes me look like an obese 12 year old. Humidity is my enemy! There may be product out there, but generally it's too expensive for me to get.

Now, I end up taking a shower each night, letting it air dry and then straightening it in the morning. It seems to make things run smoothly, especially since I am not the best early riser. I can run the straightener through my hair - I'll straighten in layers if I feel like it, but generally I'll do the whole head in about 5 minutes. It looks fine; nothing incredible but enough to look decent at work.

I'm hoping that when my husband finally gets his degree and we don't have to work opposite shifts, that I'l finally have time to spend more effort on my hair!

By the way, I use a mid-priced straightner. Nothing incredible but not a super cheap one.

ok so i used to have really curly hair which i couldnt stand so i would always straighten it. Last summer i got this new straightener and now my hair is like still curly at the root and as you go down my hair it gets less and less curly and unless i use a diffuser the ends are like straight. I dont know I just want my old hair back how do I accomplish this?

I use a hair straightener on a daily basis, but I make sure to use a mosturizing shampoo along with it. I have my hair cut fairly short, in layers. I have SUPER wavy hair, so it's much easier to have it straightened.

I've never understood the point of $100+ hair straighteners...mine was about $35 and works like a gem! :)

I wash my hair and apply anti-frizz serum and then straighten my hair

I rarely use a straightener because I think it causes lots of damage. I like the look and would like to use it more. I'm thinking I may try the In Styler. Looks like it will cause less damage.

I was cursed with curly, wavy, frizzy and downright Unruly hair! Ugh! When I was younger my parents would spend mucho mula trying to tame My mane. All with an affect that lasted about two whole days. When I was fifteen I started straightening my hair, and now at 29 I consider myself a pro, lol.

I have a herstyler Colorful Season straightener. I love it. I got a great deal on it to, lol. I know straightening your hair religiously can do a world of damage on your hair, but I think I do a good job at keeping it healthy while killing it off at the same time, lol. When I use my straightener I be sure to keep mine on the lowest setting because my hair is kind of thin anymore.

A good friend of mine is my hairstylist (she just graduated beauty school) who makes sure my hair stays trimmed and free of split ends. I also use Biosilk Silk Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner, that costs a pretty penny. I use the Biosilk silk treatment serum, and I use It's a Ten Miracle Leave In Cream. And it does work miracles!

Despite all the Heat and torment I put my hair through I can honestly say I get compliments on how healthy my hair Does look. Frequently, and actually even more so since Ive started using the Its a Ten cream. Its super shiny, weightless, and just looks amazing, and smells great, lol.

xomarisa091 - your hair is just damaged. Let it grow out and you'll find your old hair back. Hair grows at the scalp, so what goes on from the scalp to the ends may make your hair change in looks but won't really affect your natural hair type.
