I'm gathering some insight for a research project and it would be really helpful if you could answer my question below:

What do you want your hair to say about you??

My hair is like a crown.  It defines who I am in one glance.  My hair says I like myself.

You mean to come up with a slogan?

My hair says I am very flexible and defines the moment.  My hairstylealso says who styled it.  If I am going to a gala, professional fundraiser, ritzy affair the hairstylist does my hair and it is normally in a classy upsweep or french twist with tendrils.  If I am going to be at a child's sporting event, relaxing around home or just out and about--I styled it and by that--it's pulled up in a ponytail or hairclip.  For church and shopping I put forth a little more effort and wear it down with lots of loose curls or I straighten it.

I didn't see Gigi on this board yet.  I'll need to tell her to come to it because it is hilarious what she tells people about her hair.  ~Anna

Oh, Shelton said his hair says he's a suave and debonair guy--he is such a dweeb sometimes ;+)  OUCH--he just pinched me for the comment I wrote and am about to post ;+)

Anna and vivasuzi,

LOL!!!

How about (exotic accent and dramatic hand guestures) "My hair is long, it swings around, it's on a ponytail, it's..... just hair. It doesn't say anything, but it can sure look good." :P

Anna told me to come here.  I shall set the stage for what I think she believes is so funny.  I always hated my hair--it is board straight, no body whatsoever--Pocohontas, that's me!

When I got diagnosed with bone cancer I all of sudden feared losing the very thing I hated.  I then learned to appreciate what I have and so when I would hear people complain about their hair I would say:

"Hair today, gone tomorrow--better love it while you can, it may not be a friend for life."

Now I love my straight hair because it seems to be a popular thing.  I am a wash and go type girl.  I will use a straightening iron the morning after washing my hair to straighten out bed hair because I don't like to blowdry my hair either.  The straightening iron brings out the natural oils and shine.  On special occasions and sometimes for church I will put my hair up in sponge-rollers (cheerleader fashioin) and wear curls.  ~Gigi

For several years now, I have left my hair straight and long (past shoulders). This week, I had a spiral perm put in my hair and got my hair cut to shoulder length. I'm more of a wash and go type gal. ~Krista Lynn

My hair is a reflection of my smiley, sociable, kind hearted self.  Always with a touch of mystery to keep the world guessing.  My hair is pale golden blond, shoulder length and somewhat wavy.  I get many sweet compliments about my hair and every one touches the softer side of my heart.  I simply enjoy hearing people say your hair is so pretty!  I'm human and nobody special, but just as any normal healthy individual would like to hear, I like those kind comments and words of praise!  I guess I want my hair to say to the world...that I'm just me and proud and happy to be simply me!

Beautiful comment and well stated.  I love your avatar.  I also get a lot of compliments on my hair because it has a high sheen and lays straight.  When I got the caramel highlights in my hair a lot of people said it made me look older and more mature but the guys were a litle disappointed.  I didn't realize how many of my colleagues really loved my dark straight hair.  I have worn long hair now for several years and once donated 18 inches to Locks of Love.  My hair now hangs halfway down my back.  I'm trying to get it all to one length again and my bangs are now hanging right below my chin.  ~Gigi

I thought the original profile pic I saw of you was very feminine.  I wouldn't want to look "matronly" because I always think of old ladies.  Speaking of pictures--you changed yours again ;+)

I'm going to keep my snowcouple until they melt ;+{

I cut my own hair I need to update with a new shot - I just re-cut it last night.  (Just as a FAQ One-up here: I'm a professional stylist, please, don't try this at home unless you're very proficent.)

I want it to say that I'm edgy, and not afraid to try different looks.
And I want it flattering.  LOL

My hair is just one more very natural expression of my individuality. It never does the same thing each day sort of like me -- it's color changes with the weather (and a little help from a box) It's really curly and I too am a wash and go kinda girl -- a little blow dry with the diffuser and oh yes must have anti frizz gel since I live in Texas. I guess it says hey this is me and no one else is like me.

My hair is a reflection of me. I'm 57 and dress like I'm 27. I'll never have short hair and since I'm fighting aging it will be colored. My husband actually wants to see what it would like like gray!! Jo

I want my hair to be quiet and let me speak for myself.

My hair says what it wants to say. It is fine and full of static, and it has a mind of its own every single day. One day I have a cowlick. The next it's some stray curl. Then, it's like bedhead even though I showered and blowed it dry and tried to style it. If the wind kicks up, oh man . . . not good.

If I had the face for it, I would shave it all off. It is soft and feels nice when not full of electricity and sticking to everything, but mostly it's a huge bother. I can't even think about wearing a hat or hood or even a pull over. If I slide anything over, then my hair sticks out like those funny electricity machines. I should try one of those. My hair would probably jerk out of the hair sockets and pierce the wall.

First and foremost, I want my hair to say that I am clean and that I care about my appearance.  I have a few girlfriends that are so pretty, wear stylish clothes, and take care of their skin.  But, for whatever reason, they stop short when it comes to their hair.  They just leave it be!  My hair is my crown and if it doesn't look right, then my entire outfit doesn't look right...it really is an extension of my style.

My hair is a portrayal of one of my many Cherokee traits.  People look at me and think, "Oh, Pocahontas."  I love my dark straight hair and when I apply a flatiron to it, it becomes so shiney and ultrasheen!!

I have dark long curly hair at the moment. My hair is naturally wavy. I'm thinking of getting my hair cut short before my July vacation to FL.

I want my hair to express my style. It is a short wavy chin length bob, stacked a little in the back. Happy, stylish, unfussy, cute, a little sexy.
