There are some things you just have to accept as you get older. You can diminish the effects by using anti aging creams, using products to lighten age spots and coloring your hair.

Over the last 18 months I have developed a dark moustache over my upper lip & can't find a way to take care of it that doesn't look like it might do more damage than good.

Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

bleaching, waxing, sugaring, stringing or using a de-fuzzer tool, you know, the little trimmers you can safely use on the face?  Maybe one of these methods might work but I'm sure they all require a commitment of time and some money to keep the hair at bay. I hope this was helpful.  :)

Laser hair removal is available for the upper lip. It is more costly than shaving or waxing, however after 7-9 treatments it is permanent.

I agree about laser treatments but waxing works well and is way cheaper if money is an issue. It does sting but lasts for weeks with no stubble. The hair slowly regrows. The problem with waxing through is you have to have enough hair for the wax to grab so you can't re-wax until you have enough.

My sister swears she shaves her upper lip and never had stubble or any tell tale signs. I dunno about that one but I can't see anything on her and I looked closely. lol.

Waxing works well, especially if you bleach in the meantime while you're waiting for the next time to wax. It also will thin out as you wax more often.

Don't shave unless you're in an absolute pinch, and if you do, ensure that you have a fresh razor blade!

I like the epilady, because it is almost like an electric tweezer!  It stings a little bit, but hopefully the hair grows back thinner each time!

My sister uses a new cream called Vaniqua that can only be bought with a perscription. She has been using it for three months now for her unwanted facial hair and its working great for her. I've seen the results and I am amazed at the results she has. She used to have a little moustache and now it is gone. Maybe you should ask your dermatologist if its a product you can use.

Laser is only semi permanent. It will come back but it takes years. Waxing works, but if you are going to do laser or electrolysis then you MUST shave, because any method where you pull the hair out makes it harder for laser or electrolysis to work properly (something about altering the shape of the hair follicle).

I use a facial hair remover that I buy at CVS.  It's not expensive and it works great.  I ran out so I'm not sure of the brand.  It works great and I only have to use it a couple times a week.  No pain and my face is smooth as a baby's butt after I use it.

I never had any type of facial hair until I got sun-damage. I also find that waxing works well, but it took me awhile to come to that conclusion. I normally get my brows waxed, but the first time I ever had my lip waxed it was numb for the rest of the day. It took me a long time to go back and have it done again, but the second experience was much better than the first.
