Wonderful

Bear River has been absolutely amazing and on several occasions has gone above and beyond what they needed to do. My first example is from two years ago when we had a very bad windstorm the night of the BYU Texas game part of our roof was ripped off was a very small part. Bear River could've been like most other insurance companies and only replaced the part that was damaged instead they paid for an entirely new roof and not going with the cheapest tiles they could possibly find. They did an amazing job actually helped us lower our energy bill during the summer by getting us good high-quality reflective tiles that don't absorb heat. My adjuster has given me his cell phone so that fight ever need to get a hold of an emergency I can. I would absolutely recommend them as a client to anyone who's looking for an insurance company that is going to have your back. As far as most of these complaints I've seen it seems that they are coming from people who are not actually insured by bear River that they are disgruntled because they caused an accident with a client who wasn't sure by bear River and bear River has gone to bat for their clients. Sorry to say but that's what an insurance company is supposed to do. If you want to see the pinnacle of a poor insurance company look at auto owners I not only have had to deal with them as a client being hit by one of their insured people but I know several people who have worked their AR horrible and that isn't just the viewpoint of someone who's had to deal with their claims department on the outside knowing people who work there and actually being friends with them even their employees are miserable. As far as bear River's concern I know a few people who work there as well not only do they take care of me whenever I need them to put the employees were actually happy to do so. So for all the negative reviewers out there who were involved in an collision and didn't just get a check from million bucks right now to guess what that's how the system works the bear River takes care of its clients and that's all that's important to me. Oh and they do it for a fraction of the cost of other insurance companies. And as for the guy at State Farm who told me to come to this website so I could see complaints against bear River guess what I looked at complaints against State Farm and River has a better rating menu. Also if you ever do read this it is just incredibly unprofessional to attack another company in the manner that you did. That is a review I'll be leaving on your site as well. given the time I could right down 6 more ways Bear River has gone above and beyond for me. If you give them a chance like I did I am sure you will agree. Oh for the admin of this site I think it might be helpful to add a button saying you are a customer, I only had the options of being an employee or otherwise affiliated which would make it seem like I'm writing a biased report or that I had only received a free sample. Neither of these are really true I am affiliated with the river and the fact that I am plant and so I suggest maybe you add a button indicating you use the service. Just a suggestion.

Someone who is insured with Bear River hit my NEW car. Car is less than two weeks old and less than 600 miles on it. Lowest shop estimate is $2468 with New GM parts. Bear river after 10 or 11 calls rewrites the estimate without ever seeing the car with an estimate of $1397 using used or aftermarket parts. What crap. I have never wanted to get a lawyer before but this time is different. I will not put aftermarket or used parts on this car. maybe if the car was a year old but not two weeks old. I also will want compensation on the fact that the value of the car will go down because it will be reported as being in an accident. The car I just sold cost me $1400 because of a stupid car fax accident reported for repairs costing less that $1000. and that damage was repaired.

Customer Service
Won't return calls, when they do they act as if they are doing you a favor by calling. This company only believes in keeping more money for themselves. I didn't pick who would hit me so I didn't pick this company. They should show some respect to victims like me not contempt.

pray to all that is holy you never have to file a claim with them! They will hold up everything and when they give you a offer it is so low it's ridiculous. They only worry about how much money the can screw you out of. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

Bear River Insurance.... Poor customer service.

I am currently going through a claim with Bear River. I have called their claims rep 9 times over three days and have not received a phone call back. After talking to my insurance, they say that this is really common with Bear River- frustrate you until you use your own insurance. Nice business practice!!

Hope your claim isn't time sensative!!!

Saturday morning I woke up to find a ceiling sagging in my basement. I immediatly called Bear River only to find that they are not open on the weekend and have no support other than a operator/calling service. I reported my claim and was told that somebody would call me to review my claim TWO DAYS LATER!!! So now it is Monday afternoon and  I still haven't heard from them. Tried to call and I am told I will have to wait for my adjuster before doing anything. Meanwhile my ceiling is getting worse and the carpet damage has spread into the halls. I could only imagine how bad it would be if my claim were semi-urgent. Poor customer service after 6 years of paying into my policy! Inexpensive (as long as you don't have a claim.)

Bear River insurance might be cheap, but I'd rather pay more for better insurance. My sister has Bear River and they made her pay more because of an accident that my dad had 3 years ago that wasn't even his fault. They also insisted on knowing the insurance carrier of every driver in the household, even though none of the other drivers were going to be covered under her policy. I have been with different insurance agencies and have never had to provide that information, nor have I been penalized for my parent's records. I personally would never get Bear River Insurance because of my sister's experience.

Poor follow up and won't return calls...

I am still in the middle of my claim, but am getting frustrated. It is taking forever because if they (the adjustor and the claims rep) call me once and can't reach me, they don't leave a message, and don't try again. I have tried calling them several times, but usually can't reach them and even though I leave a message, they won't call me back. I am trying to arrange the repair of my truck, and get a rental car, but days are running into weeks because of the lack of communication. I finally had to talk to their customer service and demand that I talk to someone "TODAY" so that I can get this started. My adjustor finally called me back. I'm not sure if their low cost insurance is worth the hassle.
